heh, even Dan Abrams has turned against Obama.
Here he gives a solid speech on energy, McCain isn't much in the news cycle, he gets smacked upside the head by Paris Hilton's mother and McCain clearly wins the day. Even the Democratic strategists suggest McCain won today.

Pathetic.

4. Why? It won't do a damn thing.
Obama linked McCain to failed energy policies and had harsh words for him today, but that wasn't the focus. The focus was on McCain's rising poll numbers and Bill Clinton being a fucking asshole.

I never thought of Abrams as being for Obama in the first place. He goes back and forth.

Obama gives a good speech on energy, and all McCain has to do is fart to win the day. Enough is enough.

10. I must confess I didn't know where this was going. Even according to the "scoreboard" Obama won,
and yet ALL of them say MCCAIN won because of old polls? He has gained 3 points from 3 days ago.

6. I have no idea why the Dem. strategists thought McCain won the day. Obama clearly won with his
speech, with specifics, put out that great new ad, had Paris's mom smack down McCain, and on and on. What is WITH these people?

8. McCain won the day because by and large Americans are stupid.
Sorry to say it. They like folks who kick ass. They like tits and ass. They like torture. Not every American is a 'they" but the "theys" vote early and vote often. That is all that counts.

Edited on Mon Aug-04-08 08:52 PM by BeatleBoot
It might mean something to somebody.

But I highly doubt it.

My guess is that it all means a whole lot of nothing to most.

At one time, Raymond Burr's political leanings may have had more influence on the topic of the day.

But that's coming from an old "Ironsides" junky

34. Your opinion or his?
Because I agree. Obama got his ass kicked last week, and his campaign's only response was a bunch of whiny memos talking about how uncivil John McCain was.

14. He was always a PUMA. He must have heard that Clinton may not get the Veep nod?
His show doesn't make sense ever.

I have to turn it off most of the time, because the comments from him are often assinine.

When he showed the Rasmussen poll including leaners, which turned the regular polling Tie poll numbers into a tie with McCain leading by one poing (47-46), I knew better than even before that he is just another corporate media mouthpiece.....although I wasn't surprised, using a daily poll and not mentioning that it was the leaner portion of it turned me totally off. The media are using polls to affect public opinion in a way that is desigenious to a degree of fraudulence.

29. whatever
Abrams has been great the last couple of weeks. He beats up on McCain on a regular basis for all the right reasons.

One day, ONE FREAKING DAY, he happens to mention that the polls show a bounce for McCain (regardless of your bitch over the one point, ONE POINT, difference between leaners and registered voters in the Gallup poll, McCain has inched up a couple of points in the last week or so) and you write him off as a hack. You go so far as to send an insulting email to a smart guy who is on our side. Or was, until he was attacked unfairly.

Chill pill.

Really.

23. Dan Abrams is excellent
He was the first to high profile spotlight the Siegelman/Rove issue. He was the first to hammer the media's preferred treatment of Obama in the primaries, even though he ignored the prime offenders on his own network.

I love balance in the political media. I don't know how you guys can stand the one-sided garbage from either side. I don't want to watch Rachel Maddow any more than FOX News. When I can predict the reaction and slant to any topic it's worthless. I certainly don't learn anything.

I guess I feel that way based on 20+ years in Las Vegas. Some guys bet nothing but underdogs. Others nothing but favorites. You think I'm going to approach them for an opinion?

I can tell who they like from the pointspread.

Abrams and Gregory will give and take from both sides, and they're not scattergun schizo like Matthews.

28. One for two ...
I agree that Abrams has every bit the feel of an "honest broker" ...

There is a BIG difference between Abrams and Gregory ... Abrams seems to be detached from the beltway ... IMO, Gregory REEKS of being drunk on beltway insider status - and THESE are the cats that massage the message for Rs ...
