The "Constitution lays out the requirements for President???" Did he really say that?

I seem to remember a promise by Bill and Hillary to do whatever is necessary to get Barack elected. Yet Bill doesn't even seem to be able to make the smallest acknowledgment that he's even qualified for the job. Is this the Obama campaign's fault here or does Joe Scarborough have the right of it that the Clintons are clearly playing for 2012?

EDIT: The video was on MSNBC - here's a link to the story: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/08/04/2008-08-04_bill_clinton_refuses_to_say_barack_obama.html

1. A flawed giant. A walking testament to the wisdom of the 22nd Amendment
I suspect after eight years of dedicated service in the White House, Obama may be almost as big a dick as Clinton. There's something about leading the free world that just goes to a man's head. This is why we have to have limited government--this is why Republican dreams of unitary executives and imperial presidencies are so dangerous.

2. Clinton said:
"You can argue that nobody is ready to be President," the former President told ABC News.

"You can argue that even if you've been vice president for eight years, that no one can be fully ready for the pressures of the office," Clinton said Monday during a visit to Rwanda.

Why is that so off base? That would include McCain or anybody. Makes sense to me.

3. You can also argue that this is an evasive way of answering...
"Is Barack Obama qualified to be President?" is a fairly clear-cut question. Bill Clinton's non-response is just as clear-cut - he is giving about as tepid an endorsement as one can give. Take this with the "I'm not a racist. Barack twisted my words" thing when McCain is trying the same ploy and you really have to ask what's going on.

In any event, it seems fairly clear that Bill Clinton is not going to do whatever it takes to get Obama elected, which was the position during the campaign.

4. But did he mention McCain at all?
This was in direct response to whether Obama was ready. It was clearly a veiled slam on Obama, and it was disgusting.

6. What is "off-base" is the non-endorsement. The re-working of the query. The IGNORING of Obama.

7. Where will be campaigning today, Senator McCain?
And thanks so much for joining us! :)

8. And THAT is as ringing an endorsement as Bill's!
