Organized letter writing

In order to overcome media bias against Obama, we need to write a lot of LTTEs. Is there an organized effort to do this? Is there someplace we could post what we have sent for others to use as takeoff points? Maybe a designated group on the forum?

I too want a place where all of the super writers here at DU can make themselves super useful for the cause.

It's not like most folks here don't write a whole lot, like some, all day.

6. There are definitely some very good-excellent writers here.

I'm not one of them but I do get my rocks off sending a rebuttal to whomever is in need of one. ;)

It'd be great to have a champion help with a project like this.

4. I posted a similar suggestion in the Activist HQ

It didn't get a big response.

It's very frustrating. I sent numerous emails t different outlets regarding McCain's ad with Obama on a dollar bill. Nothing. They're still claiming that Obama brouht it up first.

Just playing devil's advocate here, because I agree that we should be matching the wingnuts everywhere and challenging their lies in print, but given that dead-tree newspaper readership is dropping like a stone, maybe there isn't the organized effort because it's seen as not such a high priority as the newer media?

7. My emails were directed to those newspersons who appear on TV

and progressive radio stations. Randi Rhodes was the only one I heard who actually mentioned McCain's dollar bill ad. Stephanie Miller made a passing reference to it when a caller mentioned it. She never expounded on it.

Perhaps MediaMatters.org is a better jumping off point for folks to direct specific issues-oriented complaints?

8. I definitely vote in favor of this idea

with all the great minds here at DU our collective efforts could send these media shitheads a windstorm. There's strength in numbers.

What makes their voice better than ours...only a camera and a microphone, that's it.
