Moderators set for debates
Source: The Hollywood Reporter

NEW YORK -- Bob Schieffer, Tom Brokaw and Jim Lehrer were tapped Tuesday to moderate three planned debates in the fall between presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain.

The debates will be held in New York, Tennessee and Mississippi in September and October. PBS' Gwen Ifill will moderate the vice presidential debate, planned for Oct. 2 in St. Louis.

The Commission on Presidential Debates already said it wouldn't tap current network news anchors, leaving ABC's Charles Gibson, NBC's Brian Williams and CBS' Katie Couric out of the equation. Gibson and Williams moderated debates on their networks during the primary season; Couric's were canceled because of scheduling conflicts with the candidates.

4. Double-ugh ...
Ever since he left the anchor chair, I feel like Brokaw
has parked his brain in his back yard. He's become just
another too-comfortable GEM$NBC shill, a shadow of the
young reporter I admired watching on local L.A. TV as a
kid.

And as for the others ... Bob Schieffer has likewise
shown his partisan stripes in lambasting Wes Clark for
DARING to challenge Bomb Bomb's inherent qualification
to lead this nation ... Jim Lehrer is probably the most
neutral of those mentioned (and glad he's getting this
opportunity after his heart surgery) ... Gwen Ifill, the
face of the "new" PBS (more rightwing than ever).

As long as they were favoring PBS, I wish they'd have
tapped Bill Moyers instead of Ifill (she had her chance
during the 2004 election).

5. Its best to quote the so-called "moderators"
when they try to promote an anti-Obama agenda, especially Brokaw.

9. Please allow the League of Women Voters to moderate like it used to be before
The media became infotainment. Shiffer already thinks McCains qualifications to be president are "unquestionable" and all Brokow is good for is trying to prove the surge is without question the savior of Iraq. Neither is intelligent enough or understands the issues enough to ask questions as they have demonstrated show after show. Personality oriented discussions and gotcha questions. Why are we subjected to such stupidity as "debates" when they are corporate planned and operated.? Just pathetic.
