|
And I might not be inspired to work as hard as I have been.

18. Only Hagle would do it for me. |
|
Putting a genuinely conservative Republican a heartbeat away from the Presidency would be very hard to forgive. I'd still hold my nose and vote for Obama, though.

27. If either Hagle or Clinton were veep, I'd be more concerned about... |
|
...an assassination attempt to regain power (not that Hill or Bill themselves would do it).
Also not crazy about Bayh or Kaine.

12. Obama is our party's nominee. I support him no matter whom he |
|
chooses as his running mate. Of course, there are some that I wouldn't care for and there are some that I would prefer. But I am not the one with all the expert advice about which person helps the most in the GE.

Absent a truly awful mistake (which I think Hagel would be), I trust the man's political instincts. and in any case, he is our party's nominee, he gets my vote, period.

|
I think Hagel would be a mistake, too. But I also have kind of a regret about that. I keep thinking that if he had been raised in a good liberal home he could have been a really great democrat. But it was not to be, sad to say.
Short of a "road to Damascus" moment, Hagel will always be too conservative for us and 1 heartbeat away from the presidency is just too close for a republican to get.

39. That's fine for you, no judgment. For me - I'm a Democrat and |
|
if the person on the top of the ticket devalues Democrats by choosing a Republican - I would have no affiliation with the person making that decision...and likely, no longer any affiliation with the party that would accept that decision.
But that's just me.

I will work the full ticket as hard as I can, but I'd be WAY happier working a ticket with Clark and Obama both on it.

But only Hagel would be the dealbreaker. I will not vote for a Republican, period.
That said, I figure the odds of the Beatles going on a reunion tour in September are better than the odds of Obama picking a Puke.

Obama's VP says a lot about Obama and the way in which he will likely run his administration. If he picks Hagel, who would be a heartbeat away from the presidency, it gives me reason to question Obama's judgment.

We simply HAVE to win this year - at any and all costs. His choice of veep simply doesn't matter. I have a favorite (Schweitzer) but I don't care. We simply have to win if for no other reason than the Supreme Court.

Obama has so many solid Dems who will boost him on the stump and in the Oval Office that I don't think he needs Hagel.
Prefer Chafee to Hagel if it has to be a Republican but virtually all Democrats to Chafee, with the exception of Sam Nunn.
