I think that the Dems will get blind sided again by the repugs and the media

With major issues out there like Bush's war, health care, the debt, infrastructure, economic meltdown, executive abuse and so on, the repugs along with their media cohorts continue to push the current price of a gallon of gas as the only major issue worth talking about. And they have dumbed the issue down to a bumpersticker so that all those non-thinking Americans can spout it over and over and feel like an intellectual.
So the repugs and their buddies in the oil companies maneuvered so the price of gas really hurt. Now they come in with a bumpersticker solution and America is looking at them as saviors forgetting completely that they are the very ones who created the situation.
And Americans appear to be more than ready to bow down to king oil yet again again forgetting how king oil has shit all over them.
So while the Dems and Obama have at least the beginnings of a rational energy policy, average americans just want cheap gas now, today, this afternoon.
