General McCaffery was mad as hell and defended Kerry last night MSNBC |
|
Anyone see that? He was pissed and said Kerry served with honor and this whole smear was reprehensible.

1. He was great. He was articulate while expressing his anger and outrage. |

2. McCaffery was Clinton's biggest mistake... |
|
... so anything he says I must keep at arm's length. He's a big part of the hysteria surrounding the Drug War in this country.
I'm glad someone is defending Kerry and calling the Swift Vets for the disgusting men they are, but I wish it was someone else.

4. he is wrong on the war on drugs, but he is a good man |
|
he just doesn't understand the issue of drug use. he didn't even know what a bong was or looked like and didn't he grow up in that time when it was in wide use ?

9. He did some awful things as the Drug Czar... |
|
... like the "We'll secretly pay you to write anti-drug messages into your movie and TV scripts" thing, exploding marijuana arrests and imprisonments, and endless drug tests. It'll take a lot for me to say that he was a good man. What he understood was his mission, and he had little sense about a line of decency doing it.

Liberals already know the truth. The moderates and conservatives who respected McCaffrey are the target. He's a great vehicle - and to be honest, anyone that speaks out at this point I'll accept. Hell, even O'Reilly said it was crap - I hate O'Reilly, but he reaches a segment of the people that was most vulnerable to these kind of lies.

... and Bush can have his whiners say "Yep, see ... those Democrats and their frivolous lawsuits ...."
Not a good idea, IMHO.
