Sen. Akaka's blessing... "We ask for the spirit of love, caring, healing, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, that we come together to bring someone who can really make a difference in our country and the rest of the world. Thank you for all those who have come to share in this spirit today."

ALOHA

This is so exciting! (((Obama Ohana))))

Rep. Neil Abercrombie is introducing Barack, Imua Obama!

(OK, so our Mayor's name is Mufi...)

Barack said reporters ask him what he's going to do at home...he says he's going to get a plate lunch.
"Might go to Rainbow Drive In, might go to Zippys, going to go bodysurfing and get some shave ice, see my Tutu, (grandma) and watch my girls play at the beach.

We are here to say thank you.

(He talked about how he couldn't come here before the caucus because his staff said it was too much fun, and if he lost in Hawaii he was in trouble.)

Despite the fact that I didn't show up, we had volunteers all across the islands, and when the caucuses finally came, we had more people than we had ever seen caucusing in Hawaii. When it was over we had won 75% of the caucus vote. So the main purpose was to say thank you. You put me in a position where I may have the honor of serving as your President.

Reporters ask what is it that you carry within you from Hawaii? How does it affect your character and your politics? I try to explain to them about the aloha spirit, that we all have obligations to each other, that we aren't alone, that if there's a child who doesn't have a decent school, we should help rebuild that school, that we deal with each other with courtesy and respect. What's on the surface, what people look like, that doesn't determine who they are. Japanese Americans, Philipino Americans, black Americans, we are all just Americans,

It's that spirit that I am absolutely convinced is what America needs right now. We have been arguing
People are hungry for a new politics, they are hungry for change, and that's why I decided to run for President of the United States."

He talked about having a real energy policy that funds wind, solar, renewable energy so we leave our planet in good shape for next generations.

Aloha Barack...
