Yes! Someone Finally Said It!! Go, Team Go
It was a crummy day here, so we read and watched some of the Olympics. Turned over to see the local news and then ABC World News (husband still insists on watching these lame newscasts).

Third story in or so was, of course, the "Edwards" soap opera. And then "it" was said....

The reporter in wrapping up said that this concerns some in that it brings up McCain's "admitted straying on his wife after he came home from Viet Nam". I got up and cheered---it beat the hell out of any excitement of the Olympics.

Only thing is they forgot to say he did more than stray. He fucked around and ran away with Miss Strange Eyes who was the Paris Hilton of her time. It's time for talking heads to sneak this in any time they can so that we can inform all those people whom the media claim "know John McCain but not that wierd kid". Hell if they know McCain!

4. Really? Was it the straying?
I assumed it was because he was so lousy at the Academy and kept crashing planes.

Maybe they can tolerate the those, but couldn't overlook the major character defect of leaving his injured wife.

I keep wondering - did he not realize he wasn't the physical prize he had been ten years before, either?

6. Character defects not so much of a problem for Navy brass . . .
but instead, the appearance of impropriety. At the senior levels of the military it's more like George Eliot than Tom Clancy.

3. I'm kinda wondering if Edwards finally fessed up in his own way.. so that
McCain could have some exposure.. if your going to have a bad situation, might as well try to play it better for your team.. if you want to rail on Edwards, you have to look at McCain, who is still in this race and is a known diddler.

8. Forgot to add....
..that's it's an easy step from bringing up how Mr. McCain and the Missus met and courted (your house or a hotel room or the car)and then bring up again the NY Times front pager of a few months ago about him and the female lobbiest who had sort of the same look as Cindy. I don't think anyone really dug deep into that one.

9. The problem is he strayed "after he came home from Viet Nam."
They will justify his indiscretion because of his time as a POW. Certainly, anyone who is a war hero is due a momentary lapse in judgment. :sarcasm:

Maybe some of the other news readers will also develop a conscience and some courage, too.
