There is too much of the world in Obama's identity for the international community ...
... to continue hating a country Obama leads, Sullivan argued.

3. Interesting piece...but I take issue w Sullivan writing that this...
nation is "hated", far from it from what I have witnessed.

To be sure the current "leadership" of this nation is despised worldwide, but the ideal is still seen as a beacon of Freedom throughout the world. in a parallel, we never really hated the people of the countries dominated by Communism, we just didn't like their leadership...same thing goes for us in the eyes of the world.

Zealots and fanatics will always stir the pot looking for it to boil over, but rational people the world over, regardless of religion, ethnicity or anything else, still hold us in high regard. They may think we fell off the deep end for a while, but once the neo-con plutocracy is beaten into the ground and staked there forever, the nations of the world will once again see the leadership in at least a tolerable light, if not outright forgiving for what bush/cheney and the neo-cons have done to this nation.

4. I don't know about that. May have been true till we actually "elected"
Bush in '04. After that, I don't believe any country takes us, the citizens of the United States, very seriously.

Sure we have a chance to restore the reputation of the American People once again......but I fear if we don't do the right thing this time around, any goodwill left for us from past eras will no longer suffice.

5. Well...while I'm climbing out on a limb as for predictions...
but I don't think McCrypt has a prayer...:)

Obama should be elected in a landslide...but I'm holding back until at least the first debate, until then, no one really knows what will happen as far as answers...but I figure Obama should use McCrypt as a floor mop, and the whole nation/(world) will see what a damn fool he is...:D

9. I agree. It's the leadership that stinks. Not our country. I think people know the difference..
...around the world.
