Don't worry...it won't be Biden... |
|
There is no way that "Change" includes bringing a Senate lifer on your ticket...Especially one as "in the pocket" as MBNA Joe...
Just more M$M speculation...Poor things have 80+ days to fill up with their self-important pronouncements and Obama put-downs...

27. I LOVE Schweitzer -- he's going to speak at the convention, did you know that? |
|
Unfortunately, not on the VP night.
I was pushing for Schweitzer hard, and felt he could answer the FP experience concerns because of his living in the ME, speaking and language, doing business with them, and UNDERSTANDING the culture.
Either Obama didn't listen to me, or Schweitzer didn't want to move to DC with Jag.
But I think the Russia/Georgia situation throws a wrench into the works. We now have Russia giving us an ultimatum - "choose us or Georgia". :scared:
So we do need someone with FP cred on the ticket. Biden, Clark, Richardson.
I'm still disappointed about Schweitzer, but thrilled he'll be at the convention so others can see what an outstanding guy he is! :hi:

I LOVE Wes Clark, I really do, and think he would be a fanastic VP ... I get the sense that he is a bit of DU pipe dream ...
I think Biden is a good/bad choice ... I get where people are coming from that he will be a good "attack dog" but he also is liable to say something stupid, and again, IMO, the media has already branded him as being a "gaffe machine" and will create a gaffes if he doesn't actually make one, and then hammer BO for picking a loose cannon ...
NOW, as well all know, they are going to find a negative frame for ANYONE BO picks, I just can see Biden's plain as day ...
I still think Bayh is the best pick, a fantastic resume and his negative frame (boring) is both rather benign AND somethiing that is clearly mitigated by the top of the ticket ... And, as much as so many people here want to pan it, the polling clearly indicates that Indiana is in play with BO being right next door in Illinois, and Bayh IS a guy who has a very real chance of making up the 1-2 points it might take to flip Indiana ...
The math is the math - McCain has basically given up Iowa already ... If BO holds all the Kerry states and bags Iowa/Indiana, it is game/set/match ... I take Bayh and the bird in the hand ...
I do NOT like Kaine, I think that he is the weakest candidate floating around ... But even if it is Kaine, I will support BO's pick totally ...

I was a Biden field staffer in 1987.
He attributed the quote to Kinnock on dozens of occasions. In a single afternoon, I saw him give that speech three times, and he attributed it to Kinnock each and every time. On one occasion, he got sloppy, and took a verbal short cut.
A twenty year old brain fart is grounds to dismiss him as VP?

8. I put a lot of thought into Biden, since Keith declared him the VP last night-- |
|
I can't put the two of them together in my mind, for some reason. I just see Joe as not being able to let Obama be the boss--because Joe thinks he knows more. I see potential governing conflict there. Yeah, they both have big egos, all politicians do, but I will always remember Joe pointedly looking bored and reading a newspaper during Obama's Petraeus questioning last September--he wasn't just reading it on his desk, he was holding it up so that the cameras caught it. Some reporters noted it--it seemed an obvious put-down. I get an uneasy sense that Joe won't take a backseat. I think Bayh would be a better choice, if only for the fact that Bayh and Obama seemed to get along.

Ever notice that a lot folks bitch about Republicans and the way they do things while employing the same tactics?
I'm just curious about the hey that would be made over a Republican having the same anti choice stances as Biden does. Many of these folks would claim we should all rally around the party to stop it.
None the less, just don't pay attention to the very folks that sell us out on these key issues. Just nominate the guyu for VP!!!!
