Biden to speak at Dem convention (Wednesday night)
http://www.delmarvanow.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080814/NEWS01/80814048/1002

WASHINGTON – Further stoking speculation about Sen. Joe Biden’s vice presidential prospects, the Delaware Democrat has been slated to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Denver on Aug. 27, the same day as the vice presidential nominee, Gannett News Service has confirmed.

Biden will be a featured speaker on foreign policy and national security, issues that were the focus of his own presidential campaign which he abandoned in January, according to a convention organizer.

Also scheduled to speak on Wednesday is Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana, according to his office.

Both senators have been widely touted as potential running mates for Sen. Barack Obama, who will accept the party’s nomination for president the following day.

Biden’s office did not have an immediate comment on the speech.

1. I'm starting to get a little annoyed by the VP build-up/head-fake/switcheroo.
I hate when people fuck with my mind. Anyone else feel this way?

2. How is anyone messing with your mind?

18. First pay a visit to the Atlanta CNN offices and give them a piece of your mind....
Then you can move on to the other press offices who are doing the speculating.

BTW, can you tell CNN to lay off the propaganda Georgia/Russia/McCain Debacle reporting and let them know that they need to call out McCain for being arrogant? Thanks.

5. I figure they'll reveal when it will help the campaign. That's more important than my need to know.
The guessing cracks me up.

7. My mind is totally fucked. But it's the media's fault. Obama has been tight-lipped
on purpose but the media's speculation is fucking with all of our minds. Each week it's another person. As long as he doesn't pick Bayh, I'm straight. At this point I want him to announce already so that we all can go on with out lives. :)

6. I think there are five possible veeps: Biden, Bayh, Clark, Kaine, with a dark horse--
Tom Vilsack. We haven't heard him mentioned, but he could still be in the mix.

8. Somebody spell it out for me please...
does this mean it's less likely to be Biden (as KO predicted (which I was really rather hoping would be the case))?

9. I guess it all depends on when they're each slated to speak. What bugs me
is that the two guys who are considered front-runners are deliberately scheduled for Wed (VP day), just to keep us speculating. And when will Kaine speak, if at all?

I don't know what to think....

12. Clark could always fly home from Italy to be there -- so I'm not
totally discounting him.

22. Like Gore's "I have no plans" comment, Clark left it deliberately vague.

13. If Wednesday is VP night -- how many scheduled speakers do they have per
night? And,do we know who else will be speaking on Wednesday?

17. Going by 2004...
Each day, 14-17 speakers spoke.

So, I mean, we're talking a long list of potential speakers on that Wednesday.

20. Oh -- I'm going to agree with Pirhana, then -- doubt if it's either Biden or
Bayh. If it were either of them, they probably wouldn't have released the names at this point.

I thought there were like TWO or THREE --

23. Wow. And that's just ONE DAY!
It'll be hysterical -- and pathetic -- to see who the Repubs will be able to drag kicking and screaming to speak at their convention.

I was thinking that's why Cheney only recently got the invitation - they're working their way down the list and not getting many takers. :7

Thanks for the education! :hi:

15. The Convention Committee/Obama campaign are doing a nice job
of correographing this thing. This way the fucking media pigs like Cokie Roberts and the rest of the filth that clog OUR airwaves won't be able to pre-script their lies and attacks.
