Oops. McCain Off By $1.25 On Aspen Gas Prices

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/17198645/detail.html

ASPEN, Colo. -- Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain attended an economic forum in Aspen Thursday where he chastised Congress for going on recess "while people are paying $3.75 a gallon for gas."

The audience of 800 began hooting and laughing and yelled that in Aspen they're paying nearly $5 a gallon. McCain recovered with a well-received crack about plans to "soak the rich."

The Arizona senator made the comments at the Aspen Institute after a noon fund-raiser.

He also recycled at least one of the same jokes he used in his speech at the Aspen Institute last year, when he noted that Arizona is so dry that the trees chase the dogs.

1. Why wouldn't his advisors tell him to say 4 bucks a gallon? The national average is 4.05 a gallon
and 4 bucks a gallon leaves some wiggle room when speaking. His advisors just keep helping him to shoot himself in the foot. I guess even the lobbyists are out of touch with the real world.

2. Soak the rich? Does he understand that Aspen is "the rich"?
Does he understand anything? I haven't seen evidence yet.
