Last thing we need is a downpour during Obama's big acceptance speech. I know we have that idiot from Fungus on the Family praying for rain. I heard that the weather in Colorado can change from hour to hour.

What are we looking at weather-wise for the convention?

2. Unfortunately, it's quite usual to have late afternoon Thunderstorms

They build up all day over the front range and then rain out from the foothills all the way to Aurora in the afternoon... doesn't happen every day, but frequently. They usually die down by early evening, but have been known to last until midnight or so.

Lots of golfers find this out first hand.

Also, experienced mountain climbers and hikers know to be off the top of the mountain and below the tree line by noon or 1pm in the summer.

3. Anything from excruciatingly hot and dry to cold and wet. Earliest
snowfall I've seen here was September 7th.

And you have to include severe storms in the mix, too. Hail, lightening, flash floods, and tornadoes.

In Colorado, we are normally prepared for any eventuality year round.

4. What date is the convention speech?
And anyway, although it would look bad if it rained in Dener on that day, I'm sure that if there's even a chance, they'll just hold the speech in the venue that they use for the first 3 days, which is what they usually do anyway.

5. Here are a couple of links offering 7- and 10-day forecasts:
http://www.wunderground.com/US/CO/Denver.html

http://www.intellicast.com/local/weather.aspx?location=USCO0105

According to the second one, the forecast for the weekend before the convention is for sunny weather with highs in the mid-80s and lows around 60. Hope that pattern holds throughout the week...
