Why Obama will Crush McCain |
|
The majority of newly registered are younger and have cell phones, not land lines. The polls are way off at this point.

1. And younger voters are Obama-ites by a landslide |
|

2. That probably has an effect |
|
it may be that the tracking polls are underestimating Obama's support by a percent or two, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I wouldn't say the polls are "way off"

3. Not just younger voters, either. |
|
My sister and her partner have just recently canceled their land-line, and they're both in their 50s.
(Of course, I make up for it by being in my 50s and absolutely refusing to ever use a cell phone. I refuse to have a walking tether to the phone company.)

4. Young voters are WAY unpredictable |
|
Yes they trend Obama. But will they vote in big enough numbers to make a difference? That was said in 2000 and 2004 also. The young (I mean 20's) always talk a big game, but it's still the over-50 set that gets out there and votes.
I remember back in the 90's with the MTV Rock The Vote ad campaign, and it turned out that none of the rock stars in the ads even voted. LOL.

And not just because of the land-line factor. People are so sick of Bush they are not going to vote for another Repub. McCain sucks at campaigning and Obama is awesome at it. It bet he wins by 4-6 points with ease.
