I've noticed something about the continuing Obama vs Clinton crap here.
It looks like there are only about 20-25 people who keep egging it on:

Some are Obama supporters who are still more vocal about their concern about the "disruptive" effect that Hillary may or may not have on the upcoming general election.

Others are Clinton supporters who feel the need to play "victim" to the nasty Obama supporters, and look for reasons to be offended.

Here's a clue-by-four to both of these types:

Shut the fuck up. Seriously, shut the fuck up. I understand that you thrive on being argumentative attention-grabbers, but it's time to start acting like adults. Hillary is not out to get you, nor is she trying (for nefarious reasons) to get all the attention. Conversely, you Hillary supporters need to stop taking things that a few internet-flamer-douchebags say as being an accurate representation of the mindset of the typical Obama supporter.

At this point in the process, both of the types of people that I've described are only looking for attention and validation. I'd encourage everyone else to pay no attention to the inflammatory posts of either side. That just encourages them to post more petty bullshit.

We have bigger fish to fry than to give attention to people who constantly post "nyah nyah nyah" / sour grapes reactions / concern-troll bullshit.

Go be stupid somewhere else, and allow the adults to discuss real issues.

1. I gotta agree. Enough with the venom from the fanatics on both side.
I wanna kick McSame's ass; I've no time to engage those who see the enemy in the mirror.

4. The majority of DUers are sick of the bickering.
It would help if the regular assortment of bickerers would find a better use of their time. The opponent is the RNC and John McCain. It would help everyone here if the anti-Clinton and Anti-anti-Clintoners would suck it up and keep their eyes on the REAL goal.

8. There was a time (up to last week) where you could find intelligent discourse on DU.
The past week I have seen that some will NEVER vote for Obama no matter how loud they scream otherwise and some will never see Sen. Clinton as a great politician. Why we have to hear about it over and over (by strangely enough, the same gaggle of people) I don't know. I would love to be able to come here and discuss something other than the primaries, the Clintons or how her supporters don't feel respected. I'm tired of the victim mentality. I'm tired of the PUMA talk. I'm tired of the in-fighting. I'm not immature enough to use the 'ignore' button as some sort of weapon because I'm willing to accept that others may not agree with me but we have to do better. We're adults and should be able to work as a group.

11. One type of internet attention-grabber always plays the victim.
The other type always plays the forceful asshole.

What do they have in common? The obsessive need for attention.

13. Quick addendum to avoid confusion:
I'm not saying that either type of attention-grabber is anything other than a real Democrat. Certainly, there's the outside chance that one or the other is a Disruptor In Disguise, but I'm not trying to allude to that derogation.

Group 1 - Stop goading them. You have nothing to gain other than to draw attention to yourself. If that's your goal, stop it.

Group 2 - Stop giving them ammo, and stop overreacting to every perceived slight in order to draw attention to yourself.

Neither of you are going to be "internet all-stars", and the rest of us sane Democrats are sick of your self-serving shenanigans. It's not about YOU anymore. (never was, to be honest)

15. You offer good advice, my friend. And I shall recommend your post.
And I thank you. I'm just going to look forward to one of the most memorable conventions in recent times...the one that will nominate our next President, Barack Obama, our next Vice President (to be named soon).

17. I may have been slightly hostile in my OP.
I'm not going to apologize, though. I'm seriously fucking sick of the few ass-wipes who clog up the board in lieu of discussing anything of real importance regarding winning in November. Some people just want attention/pity/concern.

Fuck 'em. We have work to do to assure that we don't have to live through four more years of ruin and stupidity. I'm not going to feed the egos of the obvious flame-throwers anymore. It's time that the serious Democrats on DU get serious again. The attention-junkies can fuck off.

Maybe it'll get better after the convention. <--- optimism

Unrelated: Haven't seen you for much too long, my friend. Do you want to come over and help me grill some food soon?

19. Absolutely no need to apologize.
You bring up some great points. The objective is to put our nominee in the White House. I supported Hillary during the primaries, but the primaries are over and it's time to unify behind our nominee (and next President). This country is at a particularly low point...hell, 80% of Americans think we're headed in the wrong direction. But there's such potential...such promise in Barack Obama. We can do some good for our country.

And yes...I'd very much like to come over soon and help you grill some food. Perhaps next weekend? :-)

23. That's why I love you, Terry.
I've been a supporter of Obama since Day 1: Not a "fan" (implying fanatic) not an "Obamabot" (implying that I don't have disagreements) not a "cultist" (implying that I'm an easily-led political neophyte).

That said, I've never posted any hit-job-posts on Hillary, nor have I engaged in the multitudes of "Hill-bashing" threads.... (I just realized that I was going to rant for a while, but there's no purpose in it)

Next weekend? Let's do it! You bring the beer, and we'll provide the food. Our garden is overflowing, and I'll get whatever kind of grilling-food you prefer. I'll pick you up at the train station, and you can sleep over if it gets too late.

26. Well, I love you too.
I was always uncomfortable with that "cult" stuff about Obama. Christ, we've had some...uh...less than wildly inspiring nominees over the years (for instance, I'm sure he's a good guy, but no matter how I tried, I couldn't summon any enthusiasm over Michael Dukakis). Like I said, I supported Hillary...but, damn...Barack Obama is a good man. And I like him. It's nice to be really enthusiastic about our nominee. I'll see about doing some volunteer work for the campaign...but, I hardly think there will need to be all that much effort for Obama here in Illinois....

Next weekend is ON. I'll definitely bring the beer (let me know what kind you like). We'll talk about this more later next week. Looking forward to it! :-)

25. Thanks, Tigger!
I realize that I'm walking a very fine line between being sensible and being insulting. Sometimes both tactics are necessary.

A little Shame, a little Eye-On-The-Prize, a little I-See-What-You're-Doing, a little Common Sense... All things require balance, but I'm probably falling short of being a Great Wallenda.

McBush is the piece of fecal matter we need to campaign against. If he wins the election, we are "all" doomed! We are all within the same boat and that boat has been sinking since the retarded idiot Bush was appointed to the office, after losing the election to President-elect Gore.
