Neither is exciting. Can either of them be an attack dog?

Neither has foreign policy experience.

Neither would capture the independent vote.

Obama can win Va without Kaine, and Bayh doesn't guarantee Indiana.

I ain't seeing it.

If he picks one of them, I'll still vote for him but I don't think he should.

I don't care whether Obama gets along very well with Kaine or thinks Bayh is centrist--shit on that.

I've said it before because it is all there is--there are NO moral victories in presidential politics. If you aren't in it to win it, get out of the way. Period.

Biden, Clark,or even Clinton are my top choices.

1. Well Bayh has been a US Senator for several years so it could be aruged that he has some

foreign policy experience in dealing with foreign issues in the Senate (he serves on the Armed Services Committee and Select Committee on Intelligence) Kaine I think would be a better selection, however, than Bayh.

3. Bayh

. . . was basically one of the people originally behind the IWR. Not a good choice. Not. A. Good. Choice.

He has no shot. Thankfully.

4. I think Kaine (and I'm not advocating him) would be better than Bayh because
he is not a Washington insider so he has that advantage with Obama and I think ultimately we have a better shot at Virginia than Indiana and he speaks Spanish which is a plus, and he and Obama are very close and I think he would be loyal to Obama. Being a Governor he isn't tied to the Iraqi War the way Bayh is.

5. I think Obama can do better than either of them
Both run the risk of leaving Republican successors in their wake (unless Jill Long Thompson defeats Mitch Daniels in Indiana's gubernatorial race).

My top choices are still:

(in no particular order)
Graham
Sebelius
Clark
Richardson
Feingold

6. Didn't Bayh Co-Sponsor The Iraq W-ar Resolution?
Think I read that somewhere.
