Hey, I don't mind hard work at all, as long as there's a decent reward in the end (either $$ or personal satisfaction).

3. A slave driver. In a free country, people are allowed to live and prosper. |
|
Most of us DO know the contributions of working and participating.

12. Gandhi also said that we were made for work |

and that true happiness could be found through work and self sacrifice-but I'd hardly call him a "slave driver".
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
"Man becomes great exactly in the degree in which he works for the welfare of his fellow-men. "
"It is the quality of our work which will please God and not the quantity".

except every one I know is a happier person when they have a job or goal or task of some sort than when they do not.
Work the way it is now, a 40 hour week plus the extras and all hours phone calls, with only a pittance of pay in return? Maybe not so much. But most people like to feel productive.

Sorry for the lame thread start but Rick Warren and others like him *do not do anything remotely resembling the 'work' that the vast majority of humans do*. But they espouse 'work' like it's some sacred thing.
