Is this going to backfire on McCain? He's so comfortable with his crowd, he's tossing red meat.

Some of these answers are playing really good with this crowd, and he's on a roll. He's loving the appause, and he's upping the ante. I'm thinking some of these answers are way too extreme for Independents, and they'll come back and bite him. He feels good tonight, but I think it will look different tomorrow.

2. Exactly what I was thinking.
And feeling, as I was watching this. He's getting sort of swept up in the right wing red meat bullshit and he's forgetting about everyone else watching.

3. I dunno
I am never optimistic that independents are all that smart or all that prone to not be swept away by swagger and bluster.

And McCain has tons of both going on tonight.

He's hitting it out of the park in that arena unfortunately.

6. This forum isn't a competition to see who gets the most applause.
For Obama, it's actually about showing Americans who he is & how he thinks.

It isn't about swaying right wing Republicans to his side.

I'll be interested to see the ratings for this.

I bet the first hour does MUCH better than the second hour.

People want to hear from Obama.

10. He seems anxious to spew forth his (obviously rehearsed) answers before he forgets them.
" Vouchers!" " Drill Now!" " Nuclear Power!" " Souter!" "Stevens!" "Ginsberg!"

:puke:

11. He's stumping.
He's rehearsed and he's stumping. And he's also slowed down a lot and is messing up now. He didn't last long.
