When is Obama going to announce his VP. He should do it soon !
He should do this NOW and roll across the country over the next week from east to west with his WINNING TEAM !! (I vote for either Kaine or Bayh. Both help with the white/male/working class/moderate/Indy groups he needs more of, and both help flip states, especially VA. If Obama can take VA, he can take the election. GOOD change to flip VA with both Kaine and Warner running for high office. Biden and Nunn are too old hat in this "change" year.) He needs to announce ASAP !!
What do people think?

1. The text message will go out this week. If they're smart, it'll happen on Thursday.

5. Enough time to prepare signs for the Convention...
and enough time to make the weekend news cycle.

I'm thinking Wednesday, personally.

9. Ah. I was also thinking this week would be better than next because...
... you know the PUMAs are going to throw a temper tantrum when it's not Hillary. Let them get it all out of their system now, pre-convention instead of in Denver. Although, seeing some PUMAs in Denver's GITMO would be priceless!

2. Why not wait until the convention?
It will screw the media and all their hype from the last few months.

If the media was showing any favor for Obama, I might feel differently but they will do nothing to favor him so fuck em.

4. The campaign has told supporters we'd get a text between now (last week) and the convention.
We would be "the first to know". I expect it will happen by Friday.

6. I know I have to leave tonight and I hate to miss all of the bashing that
is pent up here to tear the nominee apart.

Kaine not only impacts VA where he is governor and his wife is the daughter of a popular former governor, but is from Missouri and born in Minnesota.

His greatest impact may be on the ethnic Irish, Italian and other Catholic neighborhoods that will be estatic to have a practicing Catholic on the ticket.

I don't know how fluent his Spanish really is but if he is the first nominee to give genuine campaign speeches in Spanish he will have a big impact in Florida, Texas and Nevada.

7. He is fluent in Spanish. He did missionary work in Honduras
and they loved him there. (I was born in Honduras, so I knew about him from his work there)

10. I understand but I have been in similar situations and not eveyone who thinks
that they are really fluent are.

I expect that he is but there are some here that will question it until he gives his first speech.

BTW what kind of work did he do there exactly?

8. I still say Friday
Don't give Rove & the Bush Crime Family the opportunity to stir up some shit afterwards to distract the mediawhores. Make the announcement Friday afternoon. Become the lead story for the Sunday talking head shows, and Monday morning talk radio going into convention week.

12. Should be Wednesday evening .
Not to early in the week, but gives enough time for the media to pay attention. Doesn't give them enough time to shit all over the VP like announcing it on Monday would do.

13. I would rather he wait till the convention, but I guess he won't.
How freaking fantastic would it be for us to be in the dark until the VP is introduced?
