Rick Warren. Simply put. LIIIIIAAAARRRRR!!!!
Another Evangelical leader... Untrustworthy. And please don't tell me that this post is misdirected. The man who told that lie to cover himself and McCain told a baldfaced lie on national television when he didn't have to. He got caught and LIED to cover himself.

3. it's totally counter productive to attack Warren. STOP IT. Focus on McCain. Allow Warren
Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 04:17 PM by cryingshame
to save face.

Attacking him only gives him MORE reason to stick by McCain.

The goal is to focus on McCain. You want to divide allies, not drive them together.

6. Absolutely. You have that exactly right. Warren is NOT the
target. McCain is. Warren may have thought everything was going according to plan and that McCain would be isolated from the coverage.

We must give HIM the benefit of the doubt. McCain, not at all.

10. no I'm not gonna cede this point... because if you say you're a christian then act like one
You can't tell someone how they should live then go and do the very things you champion against. No more shortcuts. He lied when it wasn't necessary and you're asking us to do what Republicans do. Line up like sheep because it will serve us well. NO!

It's obviously more important to be personally right than to win.

4. Some say that lying is a sin worthy of an eternity in hell.
Good point that he didn't have to lie, he chose to lie in God's house in front of his congregation. Wonder what other lies he's told?

5. I am waiting to see ..
how he will try to set it up tonight in his interview. Also the Mccain liars have a lot of nerve trying to blame nbc just because they said what was the truth.
They really get angry when they are caught in their lies they think they can't throw the story from the fact that McCain was sitting on the straight talk express watching Warren interviewing Obama.

Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 04:24 PM by samdogmom
during the coin toss. The question got discarded and they moved one. McCain obviously COULDN'T have been present for the coin toss so this clown couldn't explain why he said he was...so they just moved on.

And, I watched an interview where he was asked about this...but he just quickly moved into another answer and NEVER ADMITTED THAT MC CAIN WASN'T PRESENT AND THAT HE LIED!

Bottom line:

This GUY IS A HUGE SLIME BAG!

an okay guy. What is certain is that he would be a TERRIBLE guy to have pissed off at us for accusing him of something when we don't know the all the facts.

From what I understand, Obama did well. And McCain has been caught outright lying about that cross in the dirt thing.

31. There is no way to prove the "dirt cross" thing did NOT happen. One cannot prove a negative.
But we do not have to prove the claim that McC was NOT in (I am so sick of this phrase) "cone of silence." That has been stipulated by all parties concerned. Personally I don't give a shit about whether some guy drew an X on the ground or not.

23. He's a liar and a bigot
This man you rush to defend says I have no human rights. No human rights. And he's a liar. He paints himself as Holy Judge of what is Righteous and he lied.
He said McCain was sequestered when he was not. That is a lie. That does not mitigate McCain's lies, it points them out.
Warren is a liar who does not deserve the benefit of any form of doubt. And he's not getting mine.

28. I absolutely understand where you're coming from. I am not
defending him, exactly. I am saying that we need to keep the focus on our opponent, John McCain. I believe Obama has the opportunity to change some minds among evangelicals. There are many who are flat out fed up with all the gay bashing and abortion baiting that has been going on. They really want a spiritual experience, not a political one.

So it is for the sake of that possibility that I say let's not direct out anger at Warren right now. As evangelical ministers go, he is hardly the worst. But let's concentrate on 1 fight at a time.

30. Win evangelicals if you wish
But Warren is a liar and so is McCain. They lied together. There is no reason to defend a bigot who says I have no human rights. If they are sick of gay bashing, they should be sick of Warren.
And a liar or crook does not have to be the worst to be guilty. I'm going to call out hypocritical hate mongers always. And you know why that is? Because your allegedly fed up 'Christians' don't have the spine to clean their own house of liars and haters. This is up to them, if they want a good reputation, let them-gasp- be good people. Start by calling a liar a liar and not trying to mitigate that.
Geez. I can concentrate on both of them. If you can not, that's you.

What is the point of attacking Warren? That's a lot of wasted anger and energy. It's McCain that we NEED to take down. Warren's name will not be on the ballot in November.

12. BTW...The "Forum" Was On Live Radio
Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 04:26 PM by KharmaTrain
I was out driving around and wanted to see if any stations were carrying it. I had to search...not the "All News" station or the Hate stations or even NPR. I did find it on the religious part of the dial...the Moody Radio network had it live. IRC, Moody has a powerful affiliate out of Catalina Island that is easily heard in OC...and inside a "cone of silence".

Here's hoping the corporate media continues to chase this non-story...the more they angst over this the less space there is for a goon like Corsi to show up.

If they work in pairs, it becomes too much for you? They are both liars and trash. I never have and never will miss a chance to point out the lies and hypocrisy of the reilionist set, and the politicians who play that game. Sorry if that bothers you.
John McCain and his Elmer Gantry homophobe pal are both liars, both seperatly and in concert. Can you deal with that?
Or do you just want to give Warren a pass for wearing a cross while he lies and holds good Americans up for contempt to serve his own Republican agenda?

24. Warren wants us to believe he has the power to influence evangelicals. He's proven to
evangelicals that he is the same as other right wing evangelicals. Disaffected evangelicals should see that McCain courting the evangelical vote with a lying sack like Warren is Bush courting evangelicals 2004. It won't work this time.
