6. For me, a big plus for Kerry would be...
...that I believe he'd attract a considerable number of independents who really regretted opting for Bush in 2004. Their conscience would literally be staring them in the face whenever they turned on the television.

Forget the "loser" shit. He lost, yes, but a large part of that was due to unjust smears by an morally bankrupt group (and an "author" whose credibility has now been blown smithereens) and a large portion of the electorate who made a mistake that many of them admitted in polls taken a year or two after the election.

8. I beg to differ.

Bush's *base* have no conscience - 30% of irreversible wackos. But there are a lot of independents / cowards / whatever you want to call them who admitted they were duped / scared / whatever into voting for the Boy King in '04. I think that has translated nicely into Bush's approval ratings. There's a good 5-10%, I'd say, of Bush voters who feel pretty dirty about that now.

9. The Pentagon and several leading Republicans
have finally admitted Sen. Kerry's approach to fighting terrorism was the right one. They can't back away from it. Kerry was right, Bush and McCain are wrong. Sen Kerry would beat them over the head with that repeatedly.
And I agree with you, there's a lot of buyers' remorse out there. I still don't think he's the VP pick, though.

14. No, we lost in '04
because Republicans scared the crap out of people. It was terrapalooza 24-7, and the media pushed it.
That's not where we are today.
Besides, many people hate Obama. He's still going to win.

17. Because he learned things that the other short-listers still don't get
He learned how to fight the Republican smear machine. Look at how he's fighting for Obama and other Dems. Who else is doing that?

I don't think he'd be the VP pick,though. I'm guessing Biden.

Just like how I wouldn't be totally opposed to HRC... I just wonder what the VOTERS would do.

24. Could be.
I don't want to speculate anymore. He would be a good choice, I think, and a tenacious fighter for the ticket.

My gut says no, though.
