Kerry's a "flip flopper"? Ok, then Bush is a weasel. |
|
It's time for us to get our own terms into the political vernacular. If the Kerry campaign were smart, they'd instruct their surrogates to work the word "weasel" into their discussion of the president.
Here's an example -- "Did you notice how the president weaseled his way around the question in order to avoid actually condemning the Swift Vote ads? Why does this president resort to weasel words instead of simply giving us a straight answer?"
The weasel label can stick, because there's a fundamental element of truth. He's got the squinty, beady little eyes. He's got this habit of not giving direct answers to simple questions. And in particular, he steadfastly refuses to come out an condemn the swift vote ads, which is something that politicians with backbone (like McCain) have no trouble doing.

3. And intelligent if you quote Yeats |
|
the poem "1916"? about shrieking with pleasure if they show the weasel's twist, the weasel's tooth- Certainly applies to ole Smirk.
It was about the degradation of character in the times that led to WWI.

...Kerry backed down from going after the leaders of the nation who were war criminals during Vietnam.
My whole problem is this. Kerry said "bring it on" to those questioning his service. A bunch of his fellow vets did just that. Now Kerry instead of confronting their charges and responding wants to make this a Bush vs Kerry issue when Bush has little to do with it beyond the typical close buddy right wingers funding the group (and we have them on our side too, infact most 527 ads benefit us).
The vets might be lying but honestly how can we be too proud of Kerry? We have a debate going on with regards to our ultra corrupt (though the debate isnt framed that way)secret government: the CIA. Kerry wont step in on our behalf and request that it be dismantled and replaced with nothing. Infact nobody is proposing that. Kerry is busy fighting his fellow vets (instead of the corrupt leaders who were war criminals).
Id love to see the fact exposed that Tonkin was just another Nero burning coliseum and Hitler burning Reichstag (and frankly another 9/11). Id love to see our secret government dismantled and all its secrets exposed. id love to see our leaders prosecuted as war criminals. Id love to see us support the International Criminal Court and ship Kissinger right into its defendant seat.
Instead Kerry wants to drag out this debate over his half assed Vietnam service and post Vietnam limelight.
Bush should be toast and perhaps this Swiftboat smear will hurt Bush in the long run. But the fact that Kerry hasnt put this race safely away yet is just unreal. The country doesnt like him. The country doesnt like Bush. Its a dual meltdown. Maybe Kerry will be the last standing from the toes to ankle once Bush dissipates first with the public. It will be a photo finish and considering Bush is the opponent that is darn sad it needs to be so close.
