What Obama sorely needs: A consistent narrative against McCain
Edited on Tue Aug-19-08 05:00 PM by rhombus
Americans respond to repetition. Two months to go and still the Obama campaign hasn't found a strong negative narrative against McCain. Maybe Axelrod is way overrated?

This is not rocket science.

Update: Josh Marshall shares the same concerns --- http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/209170.php

10. beat me to it...and it's all on video. that's the best part. here:

http://kr.youtube.com/results?search_query=McCain+liar&search_type=&aq=f

hundreds and hundreds of vids on those two iterations

here's a good one to start with:

and here, he arrogantly (and incorrectly) admonishes a reporter who calls him on his insistence that Ahmedinajad is the real power in Iran:

2. Are you suggesting that the threads here ridiculing him for being a POW won't work?

3. Let's see McCain has had the field as presumptive nominee open since Feb and he still isn't leading
in any polls. Obama is doing fine and better than Clinton (92), Gore, and Kerry were prior to selecting a VP and their convention. It's hilarious how so many people assume Obama isn't doing well without understanding where other candidates were at at similar times.

4. Sure he has. The campaign has set up a great McCain vs McCain dynamic.
The gaffes, the belicosity, the pointing out of lobbyist ties, the constant aligning with Bush....all to serve the purpose of showing the public that John McCain popular candidate and war hero circa 2000 would not vote for McCain candidate 2008.

9. What he really needs is a strong NARRATOR.
McAint has the media undercutting Obama for him. Maybe Obama's the one who needs to sit down with Andrea Mitchell's boss.
