I'm still basking in the glow of knowing that I finally get to see Obama in person, on Saturday :)

3. He's never right, and he never misses a Clinton-bashing opportunity.
This probably rules Sebelius out, unless he's just making noise for the sake of it.

Everyone knows it too. Don't play coy.

10. I don't care who he chooses as long as we win in November,
Edited on Tue Aug-19-08 05:13 PM by jesus_of_suburbia
Do you really think it's wise to choose a different female VP in the same election when a qualified female candidate won almost as many votes as the male nominee?

REALLY?

Or do you just hate Hillary that much?

11. I agree. Why can't the Hillary people accept another female candidate?
I thought the Hillary campaign was about breaking barriers for all women not just one woman.

14. Nobody outside of Kansas ever heard of Sebelius before 2008.
She won't be chosen anyway.

It's gonna be

1) Bayh

2) Clinton

3) Clark

Bayh.

I wish it were Clark but if you read Clark's son's posts on Kos he makes it very very clear Gen Clark is out. The Obama campaign for whatever reason decided to drop him -- maybe the McCain POW comments. Also, Hillary will not be chosen for a long list of reasons that have been discussed ad naseum.

20. I think Bayh is the safest choice.
I'd be fine with Biden too, but the more I read up on him the more I'm afraid that he could be easily attacked.

On the other hand, I think he would BE the best attack dog for Obama too.

I really want Clark.

I think Bayh is boring.. but he's very safe (and I think he could attract some Independent voters for sure).

23. Her father served a single term in the early 1970's.
Only the elderly will even remember his name, much less be inspired to vote for the ticket on which his daughter is #2 because of it.

21. It would be like Hillary choosing another African American for VP is she had won.
It just isn't going to work.

It looks like Obama is saying any old woman will make the women happy.

Or on the flip side....

It would look like Hillary was saying any old African American will make the AA's happy.

It just doesn't work.

I'm freaking voting for Obama. I switched from Hillary to Obama after NC made it abundantly clear that he would be our nominee.

I'm NOT the one you have to worry about.

27. It would be naive of him not to recognize that sentiment.
Most criteria people use to choose candidates are irrational and emotional. People choose who they like instead of who can do the job. People choose those who have not been caught in scandals over those who have, even knowing that their own choices are likely to have committed the same offenses. People vote based on beer-compatibility, or religious compatibility, or dozens of other factors that have nothing at all to do with whether a candidate will do a good job.

Obama knows this, and in case he was sleeping when they covered that in politics 101, he's hired pollsters and advisers who are telling him that. Like it or not, understand it or not, respect it or not, that is the reality.

9. Sebelius is more qualified to be VP than Hillary
and she goes with Obama's message of change. So the Clinton's shouldn't take it personally.

13. I don't get it. I just don't get it.
The thing about "if Hillary isn't VP then it better not be another woman." How dumb and insulting that statement is.

I would love to see the "Dream Ticket," but if Hillary isn't tapped as the VP candidate then it's because Obama decided that some of her "debits" outweigh her considerable assets. If another woman happens to be the right fit then what the heck is the problem with that?
