1. They might get mad at us and paint us as unpatriotic and weak.
If we're cautious and respectful and treat McCain like the glorified war hero he is, and never question his integrity, the Republicans will love us so much for being so nice. And then they'll vote for McCain. Democrats too.

7. Something is always more than nothing.
Especially if you can get them to share it.

I'm starting to do DigIt and those other rating engines.

Did you see this one yet? http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,164859_1,00.html

6. Our candidate promised a "new politics".
He should never mention McCain at all. Simply state his positions and how they differ from the poorer ideas promoted by the other party. Don't get into a cat fight and make the country feel sorry when the good lookinig, smart, young man beats up on the old person.

8. I've been offline 24 hours or so. Can someone fill me in?
I'm just curious because I posted yesterday with a personal objection to ONE line of criticism, speaking for myself alone, and not calling on anyone to join me or shush themselves. I thought that line of criticism would end up hurting us, not with Republicans, but with many voters in general.

9. Ooookkaaaayy. I'll be positive about McCain instead.
Let's see.

He's running a very effective campaign as far as nasty goes. I have very rarely seen any political campaign actually manage to be as consistently negative and as quick to seize on any possible comparison or half-truth that percolates into their collective heads. So in the "dream it--do it" column--they dream it up...then they do it in a tv commercial. It's disinfotaining!

He is getting better at telling mistruths himself. I think that because he actually doesn't know any better one way or the other really helps him to sound sincere when he serves up a flaming wad of bullshit. Because he has a reputation for straight-talk, his ability to simplify and dumb-down answers and still sound "truthy" is a real plus to him, and it doesn't even take up a lot of his cerebral band-width to do! That's a step beyond "Working smarter, not harder." That's hardly working!

He is excellent at picking second wives. He auditioned a few young ladies, wasting none of his "second wife shopping" time with that bothersome fixing his first marriage or getting a divorce first nonsense. And he found someone who was pretty, wealthy, and could tolerate him with only moderate use of narcotics. Good on him!

He keeps his temper under very strict control. Oh yes he does. Seen any bodies? No. Heard of any bodies? No. What's a few salty lines spewed in unmanageable rage every now and again and rumors that he's used his position to intimidate the odd person every now and again compared to the very real threat of physically altercating. I think he's only smacked one college and pushed one POW wife out of his way in a long Senate career, and maybe called his wife a cunt in public all of once. So, really. Keeping most of his outbursts behind closed doors is epic win for a major hothead, right?

He's certainly in the right political party for a guy like him! Like, a conservative hard-core, Commie-hating, anti-abortion, lobbyist-loving hack. Just saying! Suits him! And he gets to be a Maverick, where, like, if a Democrat tried that, they'd be so screwn. And if they bothered bringin up their war experiences--they'd get swift-boated. So, good party choice, there.

He's done a great bi-partican job of hugging with George W Bush and Joe Lieberman--neither of whom hardly anybody likes anymore. I like to think that's Judeo-Christian of him. Or something.

Given the GOP says what they want about us anyway--I think I can just about that charitable to their guy.

14. The McCampaign has two answers to everything--
"But, but but...POW!!!! Why do you hate America?"

And,

"Is it because he's old? Because you'll get old, too, you know."

They can be used interchangably--no one having yet entirely established that they are non-sequiturs. "Nazis" I think I have not heard yet. Or "Libro-fascist", even.
