KO: Attack ads on Obama working (video) |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 02:33 AM by wolverinez
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/26300918#26300918Why is Obama responding by calling McCain a patriot? Enough of this high road bullshit. Come on already. I understand Obama wants a new kind of politics, but that isn't going to cut it. His response in this video may come off as intelligent here, but seems weak looking to undecideds.

This is the media who told you there were WMDs in Iraq and a connection between Iraq and AQ. They have been wrong for the past 8 years, why should I believe them now?
Is it the polls? Since the 2000 election, for some strange reason, the pollsters record have not been particularly stellar
These same polls tell us that people do not appreciate the last 8 years under bush
I cannot believe that those so-called independents are going to let themselves get screwed again by an extension of bush, i.e. mccain
I cannot believe that the gender vote is going to throw there rights away by voting for mccain
I cannot believe that the young are going to go for endless wars, and pseudo drafts
I cannot believe that the 50 million people who lack health insurance will vote for mccain
I cannot believe that those who believe they are NOT better off the last 8 years, will vote for mccain
Let the media play their dog and pony show, the same media that told us the candidates would be Hillary and Rudy
The Democrats will win ALL THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT, and the MSM can take that to the bank

3. It isn't to be believed...... |
|
Except by those too stupid to realize that they are being Psyche-oped.
I am actually surprised that there are so many that fit the category that are on these boards.
Also, I'm surprised that "new" posters think no one knows what they are up to.

4. Absolutely right FrenchieCat. I can't believe all these defeatist threads |
|
Obama wasn't even suppossed to place in the primaries
There are too many people that have been hurt by these bastards the last eight years, and there is no way that they are going to vote for mcbush

6. To be fair, although KO is a member of the so-called "corporate media," |
|
he NEVER said there were WMDs in Iraq or a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda.
He just reported the polls. I guess he forgot to add that the polls are a snapshot of what things are like this week and don't necessarily reflect how things will always be, how he wants them to be, or that he wants his viewers to conclude that the situation is hopeless because of them.
He is NOT running a "dog and pony show." He never said Rudy would be one of the candidates, and I think he believed in Hillary only so long as she wasn't so obviously defeating herself.
Please. Stop tossing KO in with the rest of the crap. He's different.

I've got to agree with the first reply here -- Obama doesn't need to resurrect the zombie of Charlton Heston to take McCain down. The truth is enough, and while he needs to be firm (and in my opinion, has been), descending to nastiness makes him less presidential rather than more.
There are five chunks of voters out there that Obama and McCain are vying for: 1) Those who are going to vote for McCain no matter what; 2) Those who are going to vote for Obama no matter what; 3) Genuine undecideds who are still making up their minds not about the issues, but about the character of the candidates; 4) Moron-Americans who will go into the voting booth and vote for *whoever* based on *whatever* -- neither McCain nor Obama should spend an ounce of effort on this crowd; and 5) People who won't vote unless they're somehow fired up.
Group 1) is somewhat smaller than Group 2). By going nasty (as opposed to truthfully negative about McCain's unfitness), Obama looses in categories 3, 4, and 5; by being firm but civil, he harvests a greater proportion of 3, 4, and 5.
All of the above is purely IMO. McCain is genuinely slimy. No need to add another layer of shit to the sack of turds.
