And sometimes I can be socially inept.

I was raised to believe that integrity involved honest hard work, not talking a good game.

Why is it the ones with charisma, who like to talk and be social are being called for to work on the Obama campaign.

I would imagine a lot of people who aren't great talkers can still offer their help, but I see no call for anyone except talkers.

I always avoided clawing my way up any ladder, I just am willing to put in my time in an honest manner, so I'm financially poor and I'm being used by others which takes up almost all my time. In the past I've offered my skills and received crickets in response. It's like I'm just a ghost.

1. Have you visited a local Obama campaign office to volunteer?
There are dozens of volunteer opportunities that don't require speaking skills that I am sure they would put you in.
Stop by an office and talk to the local organizer, express your desires to work and what you would be willing to do.

4. It's obvious three is no call for people's skills
Yeah I can just be an oddball there like I am everywhere else.

I've signed up, expressed my interests. It's obviously people's skills are not appreciated.

If their campaign is so well organized why isn't there anyone visionary enough to to harness the variety of skills that people have, other than talking and licking envelopes.

I will have to come back later, need to get to work.

3. Volunteers are always needed in campaigns.
Unfortunately, some of them walk in the door with a preconceived notion of what they should be doing for the campaign, and it's usually something you have to earn by showing you can do the other things.

Most campaign work is mundane. If you do the mundane stuff, you'll get to do other stuff, eventually.

5. Okay, I'm back from my job now....
So, I wrote this post this morning offering up help. No PMs. As usual.

I'm back from working 13 hours, took care of a couple family obligations.

Is working on a campaign an arena full of egos, because that's the impression I get. There are folks who have skills beyond being charismatic. But I see no call for them. So don't blame me. I offered. Nobody's taking me up on it.

I mean a good leader should know how to use the best of what people have to offer.

A good leader should be able to recruit people who otherwise would go unnoticed, and find skills in them they might not have even known they had.

Nobody seems to be interested in recruiting people, just blaming others. I guess once you're a part off the campaign, it just feels good blaming everyone else? (Not you personally, just in general)

Based on my experience I'm not expecting anything more than crickets.

7. Did you click on my profile?
Sorry but I would expect a good leader to at least be able to do that. But perhaps I'm wrong. I just work for a living.
