Imagine, if you would, the mind of the Freeper if the GOP ticket is McCain-Lieberman....

McCain: The man they were all calling a "nutcase" and a "Manchurian Candidate" less than 6 months ago. The man they have smeared for the past 8 years. The man whose nomination was described by Rush Limbaugh as "the end of the Republican Party as we know it" in February.

This is a man who generated more hatred from the right-wing of his own party for the past 8 years than he has from us.

Add to that:

Joe Lieberman: The man they called "Sore-Loserman" in 2000. The man they ridiculed and tore down completely in 2000.

You know what's funny? The Freepers were actually right about McCain and Lieberman all along! Haha.... and now they are in the position where they have to actively DEFEND them.

The cognitive dissonance has to be off the charts.

1. Yeah, but then they internalize it and move on and start pounding away in support.
Republicans do very well with hypocrisy.

They will fall in line and do what they are told. They put winning above all.

4. Freepers will vote for the Republican, no matter WHO it is

Understand - Jesus running as a Democrat against Satan, the Repub...they will vote for Satan, because he is a Republican, which means Jesus is actually the anti Christ.

7. Bullshit. Dobson said he could never support McCain--now he supports McCain.
Because if McCain loses, then they're all automatically out of power right along with the GOP. Power is everything, winning is everything.

15. That doesn't necessarily mean Dobson's RANK-AND-FILE will go with him.
Odds are, they may just stay home, which can only be good news for us. Besides, Obama doesn't have to win over EVERY evangelical vote - just enough to put a dent in this so-called base.

16. Good Lord. I find that chilling.
I wonder if most of the people on the surrounding ships died of cancer -- seriously.

Thanks for the link.

17. Oh, God, the ships were empty, of course!

"all personnel were evacuated from the target fleet and Bikini Atoll. These men were placed on units of the support fleet, which sortied from Bikini Lagoon and took safe positions at least 10 nautical miles (18.5 km) east of the atoll."

18. Hadn't read it yet --
I'm relieved to hear it.

I've heard stories of people sitting on top of buildings in Las Vegas watching the detonation in the desert. They were well protected by a pair of sunglasses. :eyes: So I was under the impression they weren't AFRAID of the testing. Though they should have been.

6. They won't care. If they think Lieberworm gives them a few points
in the polls from pulling in Indies and Dems, then they're all for it. They'd put Hillary on the ticket if they could. They're not like us--we would never entertain putting someone who could possibly attract Indies and Repubs on our ticket, because we don't want to win that way and compromise anything. They are "anything to win", which is why they win.

10. If nothing else
they know how to win. They seem able to fall in line no matter what. We could put out a live video feed of McCain in a menage trois with 2 guys while he wears a pro-choice button on his tie bent over doggystyle in Larry Craigs airport bathroom stall and they would STILL vote for McCain.

Dems don't seem to be able to do that.

14. This post over at FreeRepublic indicates that they are troubled by Lieberman

“As Al Gore’s running mate in 2000, Lieberman became the first Jewish vice presidential nominee. His campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 failed.”

Just bizarre, the unsuccessful Democrat VP nominee from 2000, and unsuccessful Democrat presidential candidate of 2004, is now being considered as the Republican VP nominee for 2008.

Only in McCain world. Lieberman is one of the most liberal senators of all, save his position on the WoT. And, despite a fair amount of negative treatment from his Dem. party, he still has not seen fit to leave it and become a Republican. That gesture might have made his consideration a little less nonsensical, but he’s not even taken that step.

This is stupid, and McCain is thinking of absolutely no one but McCain by even floating Lieberman’s name. Much more of his “maverick” BS and he’ll begin to inflict some longer term damage on the party. - Only the ‘60s radical dream candidate, the American hating Obama gives McCain a decent chance of winning, in spite of all his stupid moves.

They're not too enthused over there about Lieberman speaking at their convention
