So Bush's lawyer approved the Swifties TV ad scripts...
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 10:07 PM by Junkdrawer

WASHINGTON (AP) - One of President Bush's top lawyers resigned from his campaign Wednesday, a day after disclosing that he had given legal advice to a veterans group airing TV ads challenging Democrat John Kerry's Vietnam War service. The guidance included checking ad scripts, the group said.

Benjamin Ginsberg, who also represented Bush in the 2000 Florida recount that made the Republican president, told Bush in a letter that he felt his legal work for the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth had become a distraction for the re-election campaign.

Sounds a little like "coordination" to me. But I could be wrong.

4. Not much of a Lawyer.
I read on this post earlier that 527 groups can't do partisan ads.

I haven't researched this for myself, but if it is true, did he give them bad advice? Don't they have to become a PAC and wouldn't that limit their donations to $5,000 per person?

This was a lousy rotten demonstration of US politics at it's lowest.
Even with chimp I would have expected a higher road.

8. Are Pubbies too Lawyered-up?
Sure, sure we have a nice guy Lawyer in Edwards but over the past 10 years the lawyer reliance of the Republicans is worthy of note. I know too that many office holders are attorneys but pure Lawyers are on the Republican pay-rolls big time.

1) To get Clinton they got Starr and some lawyers to set-up the perjury trap.

2) To win Florida they had a bevy of lawyers to defend and attack Gore to win the SCOTUS.

3) to re-write such laws those on Environmental they rely on some crafty legal minds to add or subtract a few key components to destroy the law's effectiveness.

4) Ginsberg!

And a thousand lawyers in between.

10. He kept attacking Chris Bury on Nightline last night.
Said the vets had a right to their "point of view." Since when do facts have a point of view?
