Where is the list of 250+ "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth?" |
|
I hear this repeated over and over that 250 plus have signed affidavits. I can find no list of these people on swiftvets.com.
Who are these men?
Where and when did they all serve?
Is there really even 250 of them?
Where are the affidavits that they signed?
Are they all the same affidavit?
Anyone know the answer? Have we already been down this road?

2. Damn, how many people can you get into about 3 Swift Boats, |
|
they must have been Cruise ships. Those 250 Swift Boaters for "Truth" must have been damn good sailors to turn them around in those little canals. I also keep hearing that number from people like Laura L. Are their names and documents, of course, listed on their website.

I never know what belongs in what forum.
Anyway I bet this could turn up something interesting if someone investigated it. I would not be surprised if it turned out there really aren't 250.
And if there were I would love to see how their affidavits are worded especially with respect to what they "witnessed" or were "told about."

If it is in the book someone should know. Someone here has to have read it.
If not I guess I'll have to pick one up and take a look.

how many of them were Bush donors or registered Republicans before joining this group.
I bet Bush has just as many connections to these extras as he does to the main players.

DB that seems to usually have more current information, but I can't rememer the web address. Open Secrets would be a good start, though.
I'll get my s.o. to write a quick script tomorrow so I won't have to enter each name in manually, unless there are any DU h4ck3rz still awake...

21. Look at this one for instance.. |
|
the second name on the list. Not exactly your everyday, average guy. If this is the same person, he's a major Republican contributor. He wrote one check for $15,000 to the RNC. http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/search.asp?NumOfThou=0&txtName=alexander%2C+pat&txtState=%28all+states%29&txtZip=&txtEmploy=&txtCand=&txt2004=Y&txt2002=Y&txt2000=Y&Order=NSomeone this partisan completely lacks credibility on the issue. I have a feeling that there are many others just like him on the list.

I count 271 signers on that page. from 242 on they listed under "Ex Officio" which while I know what it means, I am not sure what it means in this context.
Most names have asterisks next to them and that is noted "signed original letter, presented May 4, 2004," but the letter shown is dated May 4th. Why did that have to be noted?
And what does it mean about the names that are not asterisked? Did they not sign the letter dated May 4th?

22. I thought that it was listed on their website but... |
|
www.swiftvets.com only has their commercials.
Interesting because I heard an FNC report yesterday that supposedly recounted a call from Kerry to a swift boat vet. Apparently Kerry is calling up individual swift boat vets personally--- trying to recruit them to step forward, I'd guess.
Anyway, this vet supposedly told Kerry that he was of member of SBVT. Kerry supposedly asked him why he was doing that. The guy supposedly told Kerry that it was because of his testimony.
What I find intersting is that, if there were a list available, Kerry's people wouldn't have it and prevent such an awkward moment. Of course, an alternative explanation is that FNC is just lying.
I think that the last explanation is a pretty good possibility.
