What do my fellow DU'er think about the actions yesterday? |
|
I was office and meeting bound and did not get to see the full impact of the Showdown at Crawford. When I managed to get home late last night, the news (cable?) was just showing clips. hmmm, that may be a clue, considering how interview with Oneill and Thurlow were replayed and replayed and replayed. Anyway, did it move us forward?
This fight has just begun. Gore, while a wonderful man, and would have made an excellent President, was not ruthless enough to take down Rove and Co.
Kerry, however, is a different story. He is not only intelligent, he has a ruthlessness that can match Rove/Smirk anyday of the week. Right now, it seems to me, that most of the cable news is trying to portray that ruthless response to the assaults on his character as "whining" about "legal free speech" of the sw liars for bush.
So, what do my fellow DU'er think? Did yesterday put us forward? I am behind Kerry, no matter what. If I trust him to handle the Presidency, I certainly trust him to handle his campaign. However, with our media being what it is, argh.
New York, don't let us down!!!

My Mom looked for any news of the "Showdown" and evidently it was somewhat buried.

4. It was Cleeland's day and the media carried the other guy who |
|
showed up to foil Cleeland. You see the other guy was a vet also, and the media HAD to give him his say.

5. Yesterday put us forward but... |
|
the media barely covered it. The story about Bush's campaign lawyer resigning didn't get the big headlines it deserved, on the internet or the tv. Same with the showdown in Crawford. These should both be HUGE stories.
Aaron Brown's show on CNN gave both a little coverage but they were buried within a muddled report about the swift boat controversy's effect on the campaign. I didn't see much on Yahoo headlines about either story. At least Reuter's website carried headlines about both.
On a hopeful note, I think the tide of truth is starting to rise in Kerry's favor.
But then again, next week is gonna be tough. I'm trying to prepare myself emotionally for the disgusting spectacle that will be the Repugnant Convention...
