Anybody On This Site Could Do Carlos Watson's Job And Do It Better |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 11:35 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
What a dunderhead.....
He alludes to the recently released Los Angeles Times poll that shows that 15% of Democrats are voting for Bush and only 3% of Republicans are voting for Kerry....
He makes the wrong fucking inference because he doesn't know jack shit about political science... However he has a nice face for tv...
He infers that there are large Democratic defections because Kerry isn't exciting the base and another nominee might have done a better job of exciting the base... The base is liberal and the poll demonstrates that the defections haven't been among liberals but have been among conservative and moderate Democrats.
So whatever Kerry is doing or not doing it doesn't have anything to do with exciting the base...
The liberal Democratic base is with Kerry... It's conservative and moderate Dems who are defecting and anybody who knows anything about Political Science knows Republicans are more loyal to their party's nominee than Democrats...

1. But if Kerry were to move further left, |
|
more of the moderates and conservatives would vote for him because he'd be taking a stand!

6. I Think He Was Being Sarcastic... |
|
Carlos Watson confused consolidating the base with holding conservative and moderate Democrats....
He's an imbecile...
You can disagree with Stuart Rothenberg and Charlie Cook but they know fundamental political science...

What a moron.
And BTW, I don't buy Bush gaining ground with democrats over the last four years for one second.

4. Republicans Are Always More Loyal Than Democrats... |
|
They have near Leninist party disclipline in the Republican party.....
Alot of it can be attributed the fact that there are folks who call themselves Democrats who haven't voted for a Democrat at the national level since 1976...

Bush got 11% of all dems, compared to 8% of republicans going to Gore.
Still, I think our numbers will be better this time.

I don't buy it either. When columnist Jack Germond was on C-SPan recently he said he believed Kerry would win. He also said that he knew of no Democrats who are voting for Bush but many of his Republican friends have said they won't be voting for Bush this time.

5. If Carlos Watson is trained at all in demography... |
|
it's on the undergraduate level.
His knowledge is so limited that he's an embarrassment!
