Tweety: Dems think conventions are fun! Hardball live now! |
|
Positive Tweety seems to be continuing, at least for now.

He just called out the McCain Camp. If they love Hillary so much, then pick her for VP!

3. He just said that if McSame thinks Hillary would have been such a |
|
wonderful VP pick, then he should pick her, or take down his ads.

6. I think we should call him Chris, or Mr. Matthews.... |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 03:40 PM by No DUplicitous DUpe
Sure, he has irritated most of us in the past, but I think his nickname around here does not show proper respect.
BTW, I used to call Chris "Tweety", too.
Also, always enjoy reading your comments and OP's, SandS.

7. You know I've read that from other posters |
|
Many DUers seem ready to forgive and forget. It's likely that you and the others are just nicer and more truly liberal than I am. I'm just not there yet. If he makes it through the rest of this campaign without being unfair to our candidate any more than he is unfair to the other side, I'll be right there with you.:hi:

12. But "Obama Lover" is a-ok |
|
Tweety is certainly low on the list of nicknames to get upset over anyway.

18. I don't call him Tweety to be insulting. |
|
It's honestly automatic to me. I actually think of is as rather affectionate. When I'm mad at or irritated with him, it's "F***ing Tweety" or "Matthews." :)
On a side note, I also really don't see the need to show "proper respect" to a newsperson. It's not like most of them have done much to earn it.

22. I think nicks can be derogatory or affectionate-- it really depends on the usage. |
|
I've certainly seen some people use Tweety and have the scorn just dripping off their words but I've also seen them use that moniker with a fair amount of affection. So I think that Tweety is a suitable name for him.

It was a good report, and should put any "bad blood" during this convention into perspective.

14. Dem Conventions are fun.. |
|
it's the repuke conventions that spawn purple bandaid hags who diss our military and those who served and serve with Honor.
Are they going to ever be held accountable for that?

At least he didn't act like the "journalists" covering the Dem convention for CNN in 2004. I remember they wouldn't crack a smile the whole time asnd kept sighing. It was different story for the R's of course.

21. He will do a 180 on the night of Obama's speech after it is over. |
|
I remembered they trashed Kerry endlessly after his convention (especially after he did not get a bump).
