Barack's middle name
---

Seriously...why do so many over on the rightwing continually emphasize his middle name?
Is it in hopes that someone will think he is related to Saddam?

I don't get it.

6. They say it because it reminds the ignorant about radical
Islam. See the meaning of Hussein below. You will see it's of Arabic origin and the right(wrong) wingers want everybody to think Obama is a Muslim...pure and simple. No matter how often he says he's a Christian, they will continue to believe what they want to believe.

The boy's name Hussein \hu(s)-sein\ is pronounced hoo-SAYN. It is of Arabic origin, and its meaning is "good; small handsome one". The name of a prominent person in Shiite Islam and a royal name in Jordan.

7. I remember some "non-right wing" people emphasizing it
Some still do.

And yes, that's the point. More so to make him more Muslimly.

10. It's to covertly link him to Saddam Hussein. It's unfortunate already that Osama bin Laden
is a bit similar to Obama's name so it's the RW attack machine's attempt to make Obama this foreign "other" who is a possible terrorist threat-- a Manchurian candidate. The ironic thing is that before Obama came on the scene, I saw Osama's name also spelled with the Usama variant and now it's basically Osama all the time. Also, the one who would be a Manchurian candidate if there's such a thing would be John McCain since if the RW actually fucking did their research at all, they would realize that.

11. Remember the ignorant woman from W. VA
She said
"Hussein, Hussein, Hussein I am jsut sick of Hussein.
that was her reason for not voting for Obama.

It's like if you tell someone
My name is Larry and they say Oh yeah I went to school with a guy name Larry maybe you know him

12. I am a bit concerned that on voting day some states will print his whole name
on the ballot. This could really scare off low-information voters who just show up to vote and learn everything about the candidates that same day.

13. Actually they want to connect him to the late King Hussein of Jordan -
- thereby suggesting Obama's regal ambitions.
