She reminds me of Phyllis Schafley--I can't see her talking to real women, but McCain is desperate to pick up disaffected Hillary supporters.

And I wish she'd collapse in on herself like a dying sun.

Meant to add, he won't pick a woman.

19. Carly Fiorina was dismissed as Chairman of the Board of Chief Hewlett-Packard
It's rumored she is on McCain's VP short list. She has reached her level of incompetence and is nothing but a loose cannon as she attempts to toe the GOP line. "Bring her on", I say.

16. If we could only be so lucky.
Trust me, she would be a HORRIBLE pick for McCain. She's been getting her ass handed to her routinely whenever she goes on the TV shows. If McCain is going to pick a female V.P. to help pick up Hillary supporters, his best bet is Carly Fiorina.

It's important to note that because of McCain's age, his V.P. pick will be viewed as the future leader of the Republican Party by his base. If they can't envision the V.P. being the leader of their party in 4 years, they won't like the pick.

However, she is pro-choice.

She isn't going to be the running mate.

She is running for Governor of Texas in 2010.

She's also kind of homely and very stiff.

24. Her staff thinks well of her
Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 05:16 PM by Samantha
There have been many reports she is abusive toward her staff. Here is one I quickly found, but there are many others:

http://www.famoustexans.com/kaybaileyhutchison.htm

"In 1993, Hutchison and her team of attorney's - led by Dick DeGuerin, the $700-an-hour hotshot criminal lawyer and defender of Branch Dividian David Koresh - were fighting charges that she had abused her office as state treasurer. The evidence portrayed Hutchison as a termagant who verbally and physically abused her staff, including testimony that while in a tirade, she hit executive assistant Sharon Connally Ammann, the daughter of former governor John Connally, on the shoulder with a notebook binder. Another deputy had been Warren Idsal, the son-in-law of Hutchison's best friend and mentor, legendary ultra-right-wing Texan and Nixon adviser Anne Armstrong. She fired Idsal and later cited his removal as a threat to a frustrated staffer of her tough approach to personnel management. The evidence also showed she ordered a purge of backup computer tapes containing personal and political documents her executive staff produced for her. Conviction for the Nixon-like charges would have ruined her politically. Hutchison claimed the chief prosecutor, Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle, was part of a sinister conspiracy against her."

I can't stand the woman. I would love to see Biden take her on. In fact, I would pay to see that. Therefore, I have to vote yes for McCain making her his number two.

Sam

33. All I ever needed to see or hear from her was her "impassioned" defense of contradicta
when bush's girlfriend was hoping to be elevated to Secretary of State. kay bailey hutchison had the absolutely EPIC gall to stand up and say that one's background and past work history should have no bearing on whether they're considered competent to handle a new job.

UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE. UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! I was stunned then. I'm still stunned now.

35. I have long thought her positions on issues were deplorable
It has been obvious for some time she was positioning herself for higher office. I hope McCain truly does pick her because a lot of this stuff will come out about her personal demeanor. She's appalling from whatever perspective one looks at her.

She has a ton of baggage and reportedly has a short fuse and is abusive to staffers - should complement McCain well and generate lots of "insider stories".

31. Kay Bailey Hutchinson might be a problem for some RWs.
At one point in time, she was involved in a moderate illegal immigration position. Of course, she changed her tune, and now would probably build a fence anywhere and anytime. The conservative base has a loooooong memory and might shit.

Sarah Palin is being investigated for misuse of state funds. They don't want to remind people of GOP corruption.

As pointed out, Fiorina has a lot of baggage from her corporate days. She also went on "60 Minutes" and said she was fired from HP because of the good ol'boys network. I don't know what went on, but then the GOP can fight with that can of worms.

Liddy Dole would just accentuate the age idea. Just show pictures of her and Bob all the time. People will only think of Viagra.

Don't know about Meg whitman.

32. I hope he doesn't pick her
I've been scared of McCain picking a woman for a while. There seems to be a double-standard here...if Obama had picked Sebelius, some women might have seen it as an insult. But those same women will probably view McCain picking a woman as outreach and claim that it shows he cares more about them than Obama does.
