Chris Matthews talking about a Democratic Party Civil War |
|
Unbelievable. The real kicker was that he described the people in Denver as being from 2 competing camps: Hillary supporters who want Hillary nominated and Hillary supporters who are backing Obama. Stupid me, I could have swore that Obama had some supporters in Denver.
Chuck Todd is lecturing Chris Matthews that this conflict is something he thinks the media is hyping up. Get em Todd!

1. Those people standing behind him with Hillary signs are not Dems |
|
They are part of a massive infiltration of the GOP psy-op team this week in Denver.

3. I thought about watching Hardball |
|
but I turned it on and got pissed at the huge Hillary/McCain banners. The Hillary signs are nice, but these were specifically Hillary/McCain people (or, maybe they were really GOP people, lol). I'm sure MSNBC found them to get the prime spot behind Chris Matthews. Sorry, Keith. I'm afraid it might be c span all night long.

If I see another "He/she said about Obama/Clinton/McCain/ on Cable Teevee" I'm gonna nuke that thread with my hide a thread button. Feeding the Corporate wolf is not healthy for the health of our party.

8. Todd blamed Hillary for some of this |
|
for stringing them along long after she was out of it. Intimating that she had a 50-50 chance after Wisconsin, when she only had a 10% chance.

14. His comment was taking out of context |
|
What he said was accurate. Some of the people who voted for Hillary LATE in the primary season were led to believe that it was a toss-up race at that point whereas the people doing the delegate math knew that while Hillary definitely had a chance, it wasn't a toss-up race anymore and that Obama was leading the race. Chuck Todd was the numbers cruncher for MSNBC, so obviously his comment was focused on that aspect.

24. He said that she lost in Feb, used the popular vote measure that was inaccurate and never to count., |
|
She did a disservice by getting her supporters to think she had a chance. We know the divisive means used to stoke FL and MI.
Matthews said the issie of whether Obama won fair and square is something she needs to convey. In a democracy, wining by one is winning.

12. There's not any "Democratic Civil War" - the vast, vast majority of HRC supporters wholeheartedly |
|
support the Democratic nominee now. Senator Clinton herself has issued many statements of support and unity, and just today ridiculed the silly McCain ad. Talk of a "Civil War" in our party is much overblown, methinks.

There's only a few delegates (4%) who don't support Obama or oppose him. But they're sure to get a lot of press.

18. This is why Chuck Todd is actually a good centrist host to have. |
|
I wish MSNBC would give him his own show and get rid of David Gregory. Dan Abrams was actually okay as a centrist kinda host although he did tend to be fluffy so I really think David Gregory was the one who deserved to get axed.

25. I love Todd, because he's all about numbers. |
|
Numbers don't lie. I go through this on a daily basis with my job - people refuse to believe/listen to me (their way is the right way) when I tell them what needs to be done. All I do is math to figure these things out, and I know that numbers don't lie.

this day and age of partisan media, I know. Which is why they need to give him more time to counterbalance the crappy journalism that's still all-too-pervasive.
