It is very fragmented on MSNBC and CNN, they are more interested
in espousing their personal opinions and rehashing all the negative bullshit than running the event for what it is.

I am disappointed in Keith and Tweety as they wait for the "Kennedy Thing" tonight.

1. Turn on c-span. It's a non-stop party!
The only people talking are the people at the podium.

2. You really get a feel for the actual convention.
Just showing clips of people dancing, showing the entire speeches from various supporters, showing the full videos.

It's great.

12. what a pleasure to simply watch all of it
Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 08:21 PM by tigereye
we never had cable before, and it's so nice to just see it with no blathering.

(I have switched a bit to PBS, for some serious commentary, though)

3. Man, you are missing the real action then!
We are all on C-Span, Streaming on Line, or watching NPR and TV One!

You're late to the celebration then...hurry up!

5. I agree...
They covered NOTHING of Jackson Jr.'s great speech, instead filling up my TV screen with another panel to "analyze" speeches that haven't even happened yet.

I'm so pissed at this coverage...

Why do I have the feeling they'll broadcast the majority of the GOP convention uninhibited?

9. They're worthless.
From what I've seen, all they want to do is stir up shit between Obama and Clinton and then step back in wonderment as they comment on a party splitting at the seams. Then, of course, it's all about the anchors and the cast of thousands they have with them on stage.

I briefly had Countdown on and Tweety was actually refereeing an argument outside of the Pepsi Center between a handful of Clinton supporters and a boatload of Obama fans. How low does it have to go?

Just one more recommendation here for CSPAN. All coverage, no bullshit.

10. David Gergen made a very good point on CNN
Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 08:18 PM by Awsi Dooger
There has been no coherent big picture theme the first two hours. I've been thinking the same thing for more than an hour.

I work on Excel while the TV is on simultaneusly. Inevitably it's the same process. My eyes will be fixated on the iBook and I listen to the TV. I only glance at the TV when something grabs my attention. The last 2 weeks I was glued to the TV during the Olympics. Only the tedious segments and dullest sports turned me to the iBook. But tonight I've barely glanced at the TV. I was realizing that for a long time before Gergen made the valid point. Let's get with it!

Okay, I'm looking at the TV now. Caroline Kennedy to the rescue. :)

13. CSPAN
No egotistical talking head faux commentators. The shots from the floor by the CSPAN camera folks are showing all the fun and the excitement and silliness. It's totally opposite of whatever crap the biased snooze stations are showing and spinning about. I.e., it looks very unified out there to me!

15. If you can think for yourself and are capable of making up your own mind about what is going on,
you'll be watching C-SPAN. If, on the other hand, you have to be told what to think based on the right-wing media's opinion, the watch the CNN's, MSGOP's, and other network and cable garbage.
