He can be tough on Obama sometimes, but I have no doubt he wants him to win. Given his background, he probably grew up with people whom he could never see voting for a black person, so he's astonished and proud to see this happening in his lifetime. He kind of reminds me of one of the older men I work with, who grew up in Western PA working in the coal mines and wants Obama to win, in part for his biracial grandchildren, but is afraid the guys he used to work in the mines with won't vote for a black man.
