The entire panel essentially called Brooks an asshole - Beschloss said that Michelle and the two kids were worth 4 million votes.

Frankly, I was shocked Brooks said the Democrats had a good night. He said it more than once, calling it an extension of Obama's 2004 convention speech.

To summarize what he said later, Brooks thought Michelle missed an opportunity to describe Barack and day to day life and not the "messiah" aspect. Shields said she did the right thing because previously she has gotten in trouble with the dirty socks comment.

Then another analyst piled on the praise saying the kids were worth 2 million votes before Beschloss upped that to 4 million.

I thought the kids were the highlight of the night along with Caroline and Teddy. I doubt I'll remember Michelle's speech a year from now but the image of those children is phenomenal.
