rapper "yankee daddy" endorses Mclame
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/...e-doodle-daddy/

McCain’s Yankee Doodle Daddy
Elizabeth Holmes reports from Phoenix on the presidential race.

John McCain made it clear who his daddy was Monday morning.

Daddy Yankee, the hip-hop star from Puerto Rico, endorsed the Republican candidate Monday morning. Wearing black aviator shades in the library of Central High School here, Daddy Yankee said, “I believe in his ideals and his proposals to lead this nation…He’s been a fighter for the Hispanic community.”

The students gathered for the event clearly were not told ahead of time that Daddy Yankee was part of the deal. As the Latin-Grammy-winning recording artist walked into the room, the girls shrieked and screamed, grabbed each other by the hands and gasped at the sight of him. One girl fanned the tears from her eyes.

“I just wanna say thank you, Daddy Yankee,” McCain said.

At the urging of McCain, Daddy Yankee hugged and kissed many of the girls on the cheek and shook hands with the guys. Meanwhile, McCain, holding the microphone, had a huge grin on his face.

Later, Daddy Yankee took off his sunglasses while the Central High choir sang the Star-Spangled Banner. Daddy Yankee is known for the song “Gasolina,” which falls under the genre “reggaeton,” a blend of hip-hop, dance music and reggae.

Many in the press corps joked about the intersection of the song (with its lyrics, when translated into English, are: “She likes gasoline,” he says. “Give me more gasoline!” a woman responds) and McCain’s energy policy. In fact, Washington Wire is told the phrase has nothing to do with the traditional meaning of gasoline.

Daddy Yankee accompanied McCain on the plane from Phoenix to Sacramento. He talked to reporters briefly on the plane before taking off, saying that he first met the Arizona senator at a Time magazine party a few years back. McCain aide Brooke Buchanan said “Gasolina” was McCain’s “favorite.”

When asked what that song was about, the rapper smiled: “Energy independence.”

McCain accepted the endorsement at the high school alma mater of his wife, Cindy. One of 11 high school in Phoenix, Central High School’s student body is more than 65% Hispanic.

The event was labeled a “press conference” but McCain didn’t take any questions from reporters. The last time the once-media loving candidate did so was Aug. 12.

4. Two things about my fellow Puerto Rican, Daddy Yankee
1) He doesn't know shit about anything, politics included.
2) He's endorsing McCain because his musical rival, Don Omar, endorsed Obama.

20. Ah....
there's the answer! not that your first reason doesn't speak volumes on its own, ha - his musical 'rival' endorsed Obama! And, as with it always appears with hip-hop and reggaeton style music, they seem to have silly rivalries.

Thank you for telling us that important piece of info. I will be removing Gasolina from my ipod. I cannot listen to him now, knowing he's totally ignorant. lol

33. Y está tratando de promover su mierda de película y CD nuevo.
He's just trying to promote his lame ass movie and new CD. If he would have endorsed Obama it wouldn't have made a bleep in the news 9which is kinda smart when you think about it). I thought he had squashed his beef with Don Omar maybe I was wrong.

15. Hilarious tidbit
McCain's advisor when asked which of Yankee Daddy's songs was his favorite replied "gasolina" which is the rapper's most famous song.

On it's face gasolina is funny enough but in the context it is used in the song it doesn't mean gasoline, I am told that in the song it is a reference to male ejacualte.

Sooooooo McCain's fav-rav yankee daddy song is about spunk.

Plaese pass this along.

I'll try to translate the lyrics as soon as I finish working, and will post it.

Basically, all of Daddy Yankee's songs are misogynistic anthems, raunchy and full of four letters words.

19. Funny line from the AZ media on this:
On a local TV station, at the end of this story the anchor asked the reporter who was on-site if there had been a bigger reception for Yankee Daddy or McCain.

The reporter paused, smiled and then tactfully said, "There were a lot of teenagers here happy to see Yankee Daddy."

McCain has been all talk on immigration reform and had no disdain for recent workplace raids.

that should go over well.

i'll take our stars over theirs any day of the week.

this reminds me of the 80's when i was a dumb kid and liked the Republicans and Reagan. but the thing was i always thought to myself, "how come our party only has the loser celebrities?"
