Jangle your keys with pride to Help Veterans! |
|
I personally think "key jangling" SHOULD be a part of the convention and the General Election for several reasons.
#1 - The Military pretends that PTSD doesn't exist. The Military response to PTSD symptoms is "suck it up, soldier!". Even though McCain is himself a victim of PTSD, he has consistently voted against Veteran's benefits that would help vets with PTSD. He is in denial, just as the Military is in denial. If we want our Military to take PTSD seriously, we have to prove that it is a serious problem. "Jangling" keys in front of a Presidential Candidate and watching him react is the best way to emphasize the seriousness of the condition.
#2 - Although I have the greatest sympathy for anyone with PTSD and I want to see them get the help that they need - I do not want them to have their "finger on the trigger" and accidentally launching a Nuclear War because of a flashback borne of a PTSD experience.
So, you can rail on about how "unfair" it may be to John McCain because of his PTSD. The facts are, his PTSD makes him unfit to be Commander of Chief of the greatest Nuclear Power in the world. Further, his denial of his PTSD issues hurts the recovery of other vets who also have PTSD.
So, In my opinion, we SHOULD "jangle our keys" and bring McCain's PTSD out into the open rather than ignore it. Maybe then, and only then, will the other vets get real treatment rather than being told "it's all in your head - suck it up!".
Maybe then our troops will get the help they need, rather than being ignored or being outcasts.
I'm sorry, but by being "nice" and "sensitive" about this issue you are effectively helping to cover it up. It is a serious problem that is being covered up by our military. It HAS to be brought out into the open. By being "nice" about it, you are aiding the cover-up.
John McCain is PTSD. It disqualifies him from being President. How many other soldiers are PTSD? Why aren't they getting help?
If you want to help our veterans, jangle your keys as LOUDLY as possible in front of McCain. Bring this issue that he chooses to ignore out into the open!
