He called movies that showed the south as heroic during the Civil War "crapola"....lol. Heads are exploding south of the Mason-Dixon line as I type.

It's all good and an interesting perspective, I thought.

6. The gravamen of his complaint...
...is the meme, fostered over the years, that real American-ness is somehow proportional to Southern-ness. Not made very clearly, though.

As a Mainer, I don't have a problem with that.

14. I'd be satisfied by Pat Buchanan...
He seems pretty much representative of the worst of the South.

17. Not "them". Just him.
Say what you will about Matthews and his antics, but he's actually a remarkably informed person. His interpretation is not always on, but he is informed.

19. He May Say He's An Independent... And Maybe He Is NOW... But I Recall
a "Tweety" who was an aide for Tip O'Neill, a LIBERAL Speaker of The House. From time to time I've heard Repukes respond to his questions by saying... well "your" party, this or that!

Down deep I feel he's still a Democrat. I haven't watched MSM for some time now, but when Biden was picked he seemed VERY EXCITED and praised the choice. Most of the day he was complimentary about him. I actually felt he showed a little bias in favor of the Dems.

JMHO!

23. What's going on with Tweety these days? Never thought I would ever say this...
He's right. And, I'm a daughter of the American South. I know how the south seems to always be glorified or treated with nobility.

He's not out of his mind. He knows of what he speaks and people are tired of the South being so backwards in its thinking. Southerners have never gotten over losing the Civil War. And that's the main problem. The Southern Strategy works and I don't see that changing any time soon.
