Anyone have any idea how much Luke Russert is getting paid for his Convention coverage? I was
just thinking about my first job out of college....I wonder if he worked during college or the Summers in between. I doubt it.

6. He did intern during college break, and this isn't his first job.
Really, let's leave the kid alone. I have only seen him on once, but he did a nice job. He's there to represent the younger voters, and that's a good thing, IMO. If it gets kids paying attention to news, maybe they'll get more involved and start researching candidates and such.

Also, Luke had a radio sports show, and worked at NBC as an intern. That was covered when discussing Russert's passing.

7. I meant real work, blue collar work when he was in school. I think he represents the
rich kid demographic very well. I do not think he is representative of the entire youth demographic at all. Why should we lay off him? He is a professional pundit. If we should treat him gently because he is young it only re-enforces the fact that he doesn't belong in the position that he has. What he says influences the debate and he is fair game. - My 2 cents.

11. What has he said that's pissed you off?
His dad was a pretty down to earth kind of guy. And Tim can't help that he represents rich kids, because he was one. But how he goes about representing youth as a whole is a different story. Look at Ted Kennedy - would you suggest that he only represents rick people? I think not. Unless you can provide me with some specific examples of how this is the only demographic he represents, then you've lost your point.

As for blue collar work - do you consider that labor or union work only? I worked in an office and did retail in college - but even in retail I ended up as an asst. manager before graduating. If the staff there is comfortable with his qualifications, then why shouldn't he get the job? He's a recognized person that will draw viewers.

I just can't get onboard with the hate - especially when the kid hasn't given me any reason to dislike him.

10. What's the problem!
He had a radio sports show at Brown when he was in school there and on XM with Carville. Sure his father had a lot to do with that, but he seems like a nice kid, so get over it. Life isn't always fair to everyone, but he's doing a good job. There's a lot more people to attack that deserve it than Luke Russert.
