New York Times Tuesday evening: "Some Clinton Fund-Raisers Are Still Simmering"
By MICHAEL LUO and GRIFF PALMER

DENVER — A significant number of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s top fund-raisers remain on the sidelines and unwilling to work for Senator Barack Obama, a nettlesome problem that appears to be contributing to the campaign’s failure to keep pace with ambitious fund-raising goals it set out for the general election.

Even as Mrs. Clinton prepared for her moment in the spotlight on Tuesday night, with a speech expected to offer a strong embrace of the nominee, the lingering rancor between the two sides appears to have intensified with the convention this week, with grousing from some Clinton fund-raisers about the way they are being treated here by the Obama campaign in terms of hotel rooms, convention credentials and the like.

Tensions were already running high going into convention week, particularly in the aftermath of disclosures that Mr. Obama did not vet Mrs. Clinton or ask her advice on his vice presidential pick.

Many major Clinton fund-raisers skipped the convention; others are leaving Wednesday, before Mr. Obama’s speech. . .

The media loves this stuff. May as well be aware of it. It's an extraordinary phenomenon; I will wait to see what happens before commenting further. One thing is for sure: McCain is getting a freaking pass. Tonight's speech by Hillary is very, very important. Let's see what happens.

2. Obama has raised over $400 million, if Hillary's big guns...
...don't want to contribute to his campaign, that's fine, but why are they so upset that Obama supporters want to spend their money on the Obama campaign instead of paying down Hillary's debt?
Most of Obama's supporters can't afford to do both.

3. Either the entire leadership is Clinton machine, or interviews seem so.

What i do know is that many who came up with Clinton are now on the outside and feeling disgruntled (as Chuck Todd called it). Not as influential, and not part of the future president's sphere. It's personal, but selfish.

They don't fault her poor campaign, only commend her efforts to fight back as she had to, even if a losing effort. Are the polls to sow discontent, at this time? Republican pollsters, so I question.

5. It's clear that the media has latched onto this as The Story of the election
Not the economy, or health care, or Iraq, or Russia and China, or McCain's innumerable gaffes.

Nope. They love the PUMAs. And that's that.

8. These people really need to grow up.
There are people on their 3rd, 4th, 5th even 6th and 7th tours in Iraq because of this criminal administration. 100 of thousands have died and many have been tortured. People were stranded in a cesspool of toxic water while Bush and McCain giggled over a birthday cake. People have lost their jobs and homes, and are dying due to lack of health insurance while corrupt corporate heads suck up money like vacuum cleaners. The list of grievances is endless and these fools are throwing temper tantrums because their candidate lost?

Where the hell were they when Bush stole the presidency? Twice!? Sitting dutifully with their muzzles on and their thumbs up their butt. Now is not the time for them to grow a spine. They can save it for when McCain is able to steal the election because their feelings were hurt and they didn't get behind their party's candidate.
