...but I know you're probably right.
ENOUGH of this crap, PUMAs. If you care anything about Hillary, you'll stop. Otherwise, you will be called out for being Republicans.
Not that it matters to them, of course. I think they're in it for themselves, not for Hillary and certainly not for Democratic principles.
They're a joke.
Hell, when the Daily Show makes a brilliant mockery of you, you're pretty much DONE.

PUMA PAC is run by Darragh Murphy and I did a search on OpenSecrets.org and donated $500 to McPOW in 2000. So, I'm thinking we haven't heard the last from these PUMA folk. http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/search.php?name=Murphy%2C+Darragh+&state=MA&zip=&employ=&cand=&all=Y&sort=N&capcode=wyxdn&submit=Submit

9. No, because it is a REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN OPERATION |
|
It isn't real... it's Republican astroturf with a few sad souls ("useful idiots") caught up in what is a well organized, well financed professional Republican rat-fuck.
So no, it's not over. It won't be over until the Republicans run out of money.
All that has changed is that the proportion of pumas who are actually professional Republican operatives has gone from 50% to 70%.
What I hope IS over is people on DU describing Republican operatives as "Hillary supporters."

13. Yeah, I just watched FOX "news" and it was all about Clinton/PUMA |
|
They had talking heads saying that Clinton "held herself back", she "didn't quite put her all into it", and "perhaps she's hoping to run in 2012" and crap like that. They never showed a single clip from the convention that wasn't during a boring part of a nobody speech. Total information Awareness for the Bush/McCain propaganda machine.

Funny that a giant mob of PUMAs shut down Denver today but it wasn't on any network but FOX. Hmmmm...
The marchers were right out of central casting. I'd love to see who paid their plane-fare.
The same folks marching by the camera again and again... just like that fake cheering crowd when the Saddam statue was pulled down.

Here is a prediction.
I guarantee, that we will see PUMAs (people claiming to be Hillary supporters ) that will speak and appear at the republican national convention.
Probably the same night that Joe Lieberman speaks.

12. PUMA is about Republicans ... |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 12:38 AM by RoyGBiv
Obsessing over it amongst ourselves only gives it power.
Hillary shot that shit straight to hell tonight with a simple question, "Why were you in this election?" She made it clear it's not about her or about any individual or any one group.
PUMAs will continue their obsession, but secretly, they shit a brick tonight because any of them who have a brain know they lost their mantra. Oh, they'll continue on, less relevant than they ever were, only given power by those of us who obsess over their existence.
Let it go. They're irrelevant if we deem it such.

Ignore it?
I dont think so.
That is why the Swift boaters worked so well.
Because people said ignore it.
I am pointing out what lying hypocrits they are. From now till election day.
One side note. They are republicans, ashamed to be republicans, so they campaign for McCain, claiming to be democrats.
Yep, thats the ticket

19. Keep 'em in the headlines ... |
|
Yeah, good plan.
No, I didn't say ignore it. I said quit giving them so much power, which we do by validating their message, by arguing about whether they have any point at all. They have no message. Hillary nuked their message tonight. Nuked it from space, just to be sure.
You want to destroy a PUMA? Ask Hillary's question over and over again. Repeat it, incessantly. Why were you in this election? Why do you care about it? Why are you voting? If the answer is because of her, they're wrong. Hillary said it isn't about her. Is it about women's rights? They're wrong. Hillary made clear the only way to advance women's rights is to elect Obama. What is it about? What motivates you to get out there and work for a candidate? Tell me your ideals. Describe them. Are you a Democrat? Are YOU!?!?
Pound that theme home.
Assault them over and over again, but not by calling them out as a valid bloc, rather as a group that is falsely claiming the title of Democrat. Hillary called them out tonight. She told them they do not speak for her. Ask them what their message is, why they are in this election.
But do not give them power. They have none. They are irrelevant.

I said quit giving them so much power, which we do by validating their message.
And you call them a "valid bloc" I dont think so.
The corporate owned Right Wing MEDIA is giving them power.
The republican party is and will give them their power.
The Right Wing talking heads are and will give them there power.
The SAME EXACT thing that happened with the Swift Boaters.
How did that turn out ?
Ignore it at your own peril, but don't tell me why I should quit pointing out what liars and hypocrites, they and those that support and defend them are.
Put your head in the sand if you want, but don't ask others to do so. As that is the SUREST way to let the right wing win again.

I did not call them a "valid bloc."
Do you have a problem with bringing to the floor someone claiming to be a Hillary supporter by exposing them for what they are?
OnEdit: Is there a particular reason you keep using the term "Swift Boaters" is this, other than linking that terms to the PUMA term to arguments about whether either of them had any valid message?

---------------- I said quit giving them so much power, which we do by validating their message, by arguing about whether they have any point at all. -------------------
Or more simply, point out that they ARE NOT democrats, but lying RW propagandist, Which is ALL I have done.
--------------------------
What motivates you to get out there and work for a candidate? --------------------------
Because I HATE what the republicans and they're liars have done to this country.
--------------------------
Tell me your ideals. Describe them. Are you a Democrat? Are YOU!?!? --------------------------
I am a yellow dog democrat. Down here in Texas, that means I would vote for a mangy ole yellow dog rather than ever cast a vote for a republican. That is what I have told republican campaign workers that knock on my door for years.
But I will tell you that I have doubts about you. Why are you trying to ignore, and have others ignore the PUMAs.
-----------------------------------
Do you have a problem with bringing to the floor someone claiming to be a Hillary supporter by exposing them for what they are?
----------------------------------
I don't have a problem with Hillary supporters. I would have gladly supported Hillary had she been the nominee.
But exposing the RW hypocrites, claiming to be Hillary supporters, is what I am doing. And the fact that you have taken my remarks so personal, and gotten a little hostile about it, makes me wonder where you party affiliation lies.
What are your motives for implying that others should ignore the PUMAs.
Just ignore it, it will go away.

29. You're mis-reading my post ... |
|
The comments you took as a challenge to you were suggestions of how to challenge someone who claims to support Democrats but continues to hold this line that it's all about a particular candidate.
It's late. I think we're talking past each other instead of to each other, so I'm just going to let it alone.
I don't actually thing we're all that far off in opinion.

-----------------------
I say that the facts
1) that they lie through their teeth, and don't give a damn about the truth.
2) that they will say anything, and do anything to make sure the republicans win.
3) that they dont give a damn about America (the people) just their corporate masters.
4) that they don;t have the guts to debate the issues, because an honest debate is not in their interest.
All of these things are quite apparent and evidenced by, they have to do it as wolves in sheeps clothing, that they have to hide amoungst REAL democrats, trying to stir up crap.
Kind of like RW lurkers on some of these boards,
insisting that we should just ignore this years version of the swift boating tactics used on John Kerry.
