Any Idea what % of the electorate this conventions will sway??
Just curious what the polls say about undecided voters.

Lets face it, no big Obama supporters are going to switch to McLame next week because of the GOP convention. I for one will not be able to watch because I will destroy my TV.

And no right wing nutty GOP voters care about our convention. And it will not sway them at all.

Any estimate on how many voters could be impacted by the conventions?

1. Probably not many.
I'm with you, I would not be caught dead watching the Republican convention. I would think that by this point most people already have decided who to vote for. Conventions won't have much impact.

2. Not many. Josh Marshall has an interesting thought today at TPM - how the Right works -
preying on Authoritarianism. Conservatives in general seem to like to be told what to do, to see the world in Black and White - and it seems that this authoritarian tilt divides itself into many, many followers (authoritarian-ees?) and the few power mongers who like to tell people what to do.

I think that is what we as moderates, liberals, progressives - are up against. We who rebel against authoritarianism are, if not fighting a losing battle, are not - perhaps never have been or never will be - in the majority.

So it is therefore as you indicate all about mobilizing those who are liable to vote with us - and to hope that those who don't will be sufficiently disenfranchised to stay home.

3. I definitely think Hillary's speech last night will sway some republican women our way
Also on a state by state basis, it has shifted our way

5. It's that middle ground....
dems are sold already

Republicans won't vote for a Dem unless we had God and Reagan on the same ticket.

It's those undecided, independent, dems on the fence, and also the excitement that gets the Dems out working for the election.

I think if God were on the ticket but had a {D} after his name, they still wouldn't vote for him. They'd just claim he was the anti-God. ;)

6. To me, the convention is for unifying the party.
We all proved we wanted to march. Now, we get our orders.

8. I wish people could see (or watch) the convention without all the comments from our MSM.
It seems our corporate owned and controlled media will only allow their viewers to see the big names in politics. ...And we all know our BIG names will never get down and dirty with the truth about the crimes of our White House.

I would love to see Bidden or Obama say, 'For decades the neo-cons have been planning to over throw our government, their plan is to have certain corporations control what we consume at the prices they set, all while other countries produce our goods working for slave wages.'

I want someone -ANYONE to explain how Prescott Bush tried to help over throw FDR, how the Bushes have been profiting from war since WWI, and how there's a group of corporate leaders called the Bilderger Group who have been financing and controlling politicians since the fifties.

I want someone to explain the ruthlessness of our White House; -how it was the son of an oil tycoon, and friend of the Bushes who tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan, which would have made HW a instant president.

I can't wait until everyone knows the truth about the crimes of the Bush Family.
