Does Ron Paul get to speak at the Evil Twin Convention next week?
How are the MSM going to treat Ron Paul fans? Will they have them on as much as they had the PUMAs this week?

I doubt it....

1. I think you already know the answer
Of course they won't - the tag line will be, "despite an unpopular President, party rallys behind McCain" and that will be it. No mention of the Paul supporters or anything else. All will be well, they'll characterize it as a "win" for McCain that his party is really unified and that he did what he had to do to make his case.

Get ready for it, because its going to be the most shameless attempt at influencing the election as we will ever see in our lifetimes.

3. I'm thinking about going to the Twin Cities for a couple days
It would be funny catching Repigs talking racist shit about Obama on video... maybe join in with the Ron Paul people protesting...

Who's with me...

7. I'll be there in spirit
I'd love to do something like that and you know it wouldn't be hard to accomplish your goal and then some.

I say we help the Ron Paul people get the word out about their own convention and their own grievances with the party. If you look at them, the are really severe and quite well reasoned (if that's a persons ideology).

2. Would you believe
They are having their own alternate convention at the Target Center in Minneapolis and have apparently sold almost 10,000 tickets?

Oh, but of course while the Republicans have TWO SEPARATE CONVENTIONS this year, it's the Democrats who are divided. :sarcasm:

5. Wow! Thanks for that...
Yeah. Imagine if the Hillary Clinton supporters had a separate convention at the same time... time for the surrogates to mention that this week!

6. ron paul/hrc comparison is actually pretty silly
I hope the Paulians (or whatever they're called) show up and make noise and get attention. But to think that the Paul/Clinton situations are in any way comparable is pretty silly. Paul didn't win a single primary and he attracted just barely over 1 million votes. HRC (who I did not support) garnered 18 million votes (or thereabouts) and won over 20 contests.

If you think the Paulians deserve much attention based on that showing, you're not dealing with reality.

9. It doesn't make their message any less important
At least on that side of the equation.

They have some serious grievances with their party and the people leading it. They are a serious grassroots effort that can raise serious money and could turn into a serious threat to the GOP in the future. Sure, they are crazy when we compare them to our own ideology, but they are taking their talk into action and having their own well-organized convention to support their agenda. Much more than the PUMA idiots who were largely a figment of the media's imagination.

In my opinion, its disingenuous to ignore the Paul movement as they show a significant fracture in the Republican party - and some of their complaints are the same ones we have.
