DENVER -- Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign leadership in Michigan followed up her pro-Obama remarks Tuesday night with a call this morning to unite behind Obama for the presidential stretch run.
Former Gov. James Blanchard, co-chair for the Clinton camp in Michigan, told the state contingent at the delegation breakfast today that Clinton "is going to campaign her heart out for Barack Obama.
"This is a fabulous ticket for an important turning point in our country's history," Blanchard said. "When we leave here, we have to be one party, and the people who will lead us are Barack Obama and Joe Biden."
Blanchard said the race will come down to Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio. His remarks followed an announcement by the Obama campaign that the candidate will launch a bus tour in those three states coming out of the convention this weekend.
The morning love fest also includes Obama delegates praising Clinton.
"I'd like to compliment Hillary Clinton for running a great, great campaign," said House Speaker Andy Dillon of Redford Township. "And I want to compliment her for the gracious passing of the baton last night." ......(more)
