If "POW" is an excuse for all mental and moral deficiencies...
McCain had an affair while still married to his first wife. For every other (non-Republican) politician, it is supposed to be the end of their career or at least grounds for impeachment, but for McCain it's okay because he was a POW.

He dumped his first wife, a former beauty, when she was no longer so beautiful, and he moved on to a younger, prettier, richer babe. But it's okay because he was a POW.

He can't remember the difference between Sunnis and Shiites or between Iran and Al Qaida, but it's okay because he was a POW.

He's so rich and out-of-touch that he doesn't even know how many homes he owns, but it's okay because he was a POW.

He has a nasty reputation for having an explosive, uncontrolled anger, but it's okay because he was a POW.

He shows signs of being an Ambien zombie, but it's okay because he was a POW.

If being a POW is a justification for all past and present mental and moral deficiencies, it seems fair to wonder how long that justification will continue from the present into the future?

If he becomes president and makes bad decisions based on ignorance of the facts, even after Joe Lieberman whispers the correct answers in his ear, will it be okay for America because he was a POW?

If he makes morally deficient decisions as president because he's morally deficient, will it be okay for America because he was a POW?

If he has a moment of explosive, uncontrolled rage and presses the red button or starts a few more wars, will it be okay for America because, after all, he was a POW?

We're choosing a president here, not doing a social work rehabilitation of the mental and moral capacities of an ex-POW who apparently doesn't want any rehabilitation, and we're going to have to live (or perhaps not :scared:) with the actions and decisions of the next president, regardless of whether his deficiencies are from being a POW or from being 5th-to-last in his class before he was a POW or simply from being an out-of-touch rich dude. It really won't matter what the reasons were, are, or will be for his deficiencies. His decisions as president won't come with an "Oops--POW--rewind" button.

If John McCain's mental and moral deficiencies are because of being a POW, it's just more proof of how badly we serve our veterans who served us, but then John McCain regularly votes against giving the VA the resources it needs to better serve our veterans.

Every time that Republican apologists justify a McCain deficiency with "Oh, but he was a POW," they make the case for sending him to rehab instead of for sending him to the White House.

1. Maybe we could lock Obama in a box for a couple of days
Then, whenever the Repugs bring up Wright or Ayers or whatever, Obama could just say it was cos he was locked in a box.

2. If you want to tongue tie repugs...
just keep mentioning that McCrazy wasn't tortured, according to bushco definition. It puts repugs into a state of shock and disbelief. They absolutely cannot respond. Their mouths open, but nothing comes out.
